The payments hes going to jail over.
Federal prosecutor's declined to charge Trump. Now a random, small time manhattan DA who is bank rolled by far left extremist are going to try and use the justice system to get Trump, yet again.....pretty pathetic use of time and resources. We all know he will not be convicted of a payment to a porn star 7 years ago.

It's weak and shows how dirty politics are.

Even a partisan like yourself should be opposed to political persecution. If there is not more in the indictment this will not end well for prosecutors

I'm only curious but what is the "crime" exactly?
I'm sure they will make it the same campaign finance violation that forced his lawyer Cohen to go to jail. I think in that indictment Trump was person number 1 and the question will be if he directed Cohen to do it then he would have done something illegal.

I guess I need to amend the above to say--who among us hasn't paid off the porn star and characterize that payment as a campaign finance thingy or something...I don't know.

But I mean--tomato, potato, right?

You’re suggesting there’s a chance it was cohen who thought thought up the idea to pay stormy?

You are making my point. Reasonable people, not partisan extremists, should be opposed to political persecution. This is not good for the country and sets a bad precedent.

If the hush payment is the only thing in the indictment this will back fire on the manhattan DA. Never Trumpers better hope there is more in the indictment.

His lawyer paid Stormy Daniels $130,000. Trump then paid his lawyer the $130,000 back using campaign funds. They haven’t announced the exact charge(s) yet, but its likely to be related to campaign finance/fraud. The lawyer went to prison over this exact issue, among other charges.

After all the threats he made last week, he may also be charged with incitement. He committed a crime and he is not above the law.

Having said that, I didn't want him charged for this one for fear it will weaken the serious cases - but he is guilty and he admitted to it.

Which again is why federal prosectuors declined to go forward with this. It's going to back fire if there is not more in the indictment (which we have yet to see).

Well, IN FAIRNESS, it was Trump's att general who said that a sitting president couldn't be indicted.

But it is true that Bragg wasn't moving on it and it was a zombie case for a long while. Feds were fine with going after Cohen though and there is AUDIO of trump directing the payment to be made.

There are nut jobs on both sides. Do I think Hillary clinton has committed a crime in her life? Of course. Even your most partisan democrat knows she has done criminal stuff but that doesn't mean we start locking up political opponents. It's a slippery slope when you start political persecution.

This is personal for a lot of never trumpers.

The irony of that is strong. Congress would be dwindled down to about 10 people if we went after political opponents for "crimes". I know you hate the orange man but surely you can see how this is a slippery slope, and i'll say it again, a reason why federal prosecutors did not move forward with this "federal crime"

Well there is audio of the two working it out together. Cohen served his time and he was guilty. Now the jury will hear how much evidence there is beyond the audio and the fact that trump signed the checks himself (and wasn't under duress from any known evidence).

Cohen paid Stormy because that would make it legal. There’s no way to prove otherwise. There’s no paper trail, unless new evidence has come out.
I mean--you have the signed checks, so there is a paper trail. The questions now surround after the audio where cohen and trump work this out--how much role did Trump have in directing it to be put under the campaign finance designation and if that should be a misdemeanor or a felony (I thought it would be a misdemeanor in all honesty).

Yeah you do. It's okay. There are a lot of people that hate Trump.

Since you bring up a country of laws though, i have to ask, do you think Hillary Clinton or even Joe Biden committed a crime? Just curious if you will be honest.

Deep down I think you agree with me that political persecution on either side is not good moving forward. Let federal prosecutors try a federal crime. Don't let a state DA try and indict a former president or future political opponent. That is when it screams politics.

Taylor Budowich, CEO of Make America Great Again Inc. released this statement moments ago.

“This is not an indictment of a crime— there was no crime— Instead, this news is the indictment of a failed nation. President Trump is promising to peacefully end the war in Ukraine, dismantle the deep state, and save our country by putting America first. For that, the political elites and powerbrokers have weaponized government to try and stop him. They will fail. He will be re-elected in the greatest landslide in American history, and together we will all Make America Great Again.”

There is an indictment of a crime. Trump himself said it was coming.

That is false.

Did trump commit the crime for which he is now indicted/charged??? That will be decided by a jury after the facts are heard.

Important to be correct with the facts Mr. Budowich.

Who cares !
Exactly. Why is eveyone so hung up on some idea about 'morality' and not paying porn stars to cover up sex when your wife is pregnant. NOT A BIG DEAL. We are a Christian nation--we don't need people to act like actual Christians or have leaders reflect those values. Really--very silly...
