I gotta be honest with you man, I’m about a millimeter away from not even caring.

The local governments in many of these places have allowed things to go unchecked and reach this point. It’s hard for me to care more about their city than they do.

I've closed that millimeter and am on the other side. I'm not too familiar with this but am speaking on a larger scale - the riots in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, NYC....... I don't even care anymore.

This is what people in these areas voted for. They should have expected this. They made their choices, now they can deal with the consequences or demand their elected officials deal with these issues. Elected officials work for those who elect them.

This is needed for society. It’s important the world sees what happens after years of progressive rule in cities.

They are just a few more regulations, tax increases and minimum wage increases from having everything fixed. Trust the process.

It will somehow be reported as the fault of conservatives or Trump himself, but eventually the reality will be undeniable.

My liberal friends hate when I make that argument, but I see it as valid. California should have the most robust middle class along with the best, most affordable housing market. Weirdly it’s the opposite.

I do feel for the good people of these areas, who voted against these leaders, and want no part of this.

This is the sad truth. It has to happen though and will work out for our country's good as it'll help Trump get re-elected in November.

Another reason why we are buying 10-20 acres of land in North Georgia... selling the house, cashing in the equity and heading for the hills. Give me 2-3 years to get my family compound in order... Nothing but animals & thugs.

FWIW - there was another police-related shooting here on the south side of Chicago that may have sparked this latest round of looting/civil commotion. It was further enhanced when incorrect social media posts indicated that the cops shot a child. There were some gatherings in Edgewood that turned a little sporty, and it probably escalated from there.

You have to believe eventually when these progressive cities fail and there is nothing there - they'll begin their decent south to our beautiful, resourceful Southern cities. You'll probably catch some grief about your post, but there's truth to preparing yourself and family and having the capacity to protect your family and property. I have 18 acres myself and I hope we're prepared and well protected.

This unrest isn’t the reason for my recent purchase of 23 acres, that was done in the name of attempted self-sufficiency. However, the turmoil in this country has confirmed my decisions as correct.

Chicago is bankrupt right now. Their bond rating is "junk" classification. The city is securing new borrowing with bonds secured by future tax proceeds. If the Democrat party takes the trifecta (House, Senate, and Presidency), Chicago and other blue cities will be bailed out with Federal monies.

The help Chicago needs to to declare them bankrupt. Put all their pension under RISA control (that is the big financial liability). Under RISA, the maximum yearly pension payout is 56K per year. For the working public servant at the lowest level (beat cops, teachers, and others) that would be close to their regular payout. For all the expansive administration at higher levels, it would reward them for all the graft and corruption.

trump already said he was not going to bail out these cities.

apparently they tried to lump their old spending problems in with the china virus money needs and trump said no. you only get the money you need to handle the virus.

this royally pissed off alot of city leaders who were counting on the taxpayers to bail them out.

hence why they hate trump.

This shopping center is about a quarter mile from my house....my gym is right across the street. I walk here every day. I'm furious right now.

are you under lockdown?

o do you know the name of those 2 gangs that are fighting right now?

seems like both sides have killed over 20 from each side in the last month and most were children

is that what everyone is rioting about?

App - the two gangs (Gangster Disciples and Black Disciples) you mention have been at odds for, like, 50 years or something. Recently, FBG Duck, a GD-affiliated Chicago Drill rapper (signed with Sony Entertainment, I think) was shot and killed in the Gold Coast neighborhood after he made disparaging remarks about a slain rapper that was affiliated with the BDs. It was like, 430pm on a Thursday afternoon outside of a Gucci or Burberry (or some other high end) store, and 2 cars pulled over and lit him up. FBD Duck was going to buy some kicks for his little kid ...

This most recent round of looting prob stems from a police-related shooting on the south side more than anything.

No idea if affiliated, but CP stopping the young man as he "fit a description" of someone they were looking for. Dude runs, fires weapon at cops, gets shot by cops, goes to hospital.

No lockdown for me. I don't honestly know anything about the gang violence here. People were rioting because police stopped a man who was reported to have a gun...he did...he took off running and fired at police. Police fired back and hit him. He is in the hospital. Fake news spread that the kids shot an unarmed child and they organized a "protest" and sent caravans of looters into the loop.

welcome to 2020.

Why they hate Trump?!?! I know you've been paying more attention than that. They hated Trump as soon as he threw his hat in the ring.

I really do feel bad for the people, in these cities where chaos is running amuck, who are just trying to raise their families and live their lives.

I hurt for those in this country who are earnestly trying to fight for equality, and it angers me to see their plight politicized and hijacked to their detriment.

I pray for peace and equality of opportunity. I pray that hate and bigotry, no matter the color of the persons skin, is replaced with love and kindness.

I will fight to that end.
