Another swing and a miss. Thanks Obama.
Talk about a swing and a miss (from Trump's July 4th speech) ...

"In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.

"Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant.

Haha. Is that a real quote?

Obama takes photo with jersey:

“So brave. What a president and leader he was”

Trump takes photo with jersey:

“Such a pig. Can’t believe how staged this is”
Obama goes on vacations as President and people on here bitched about him spending too much time away from his duties, how the gov’t shouldn’t be paying for him to fly somewhere...I believe there was even a long trip that was actually as part of his presidential duties that was criticized because of cost as well, and right wingers were up in arms. The man was even criticized for wearing a damn chino or khaki suit like it was a travesty according to Fox News.

Trump spends every weekend playing golf but it’s perfectly okay in your eyes, spends most of his time tweeting and has no problem wasting billions of dollars to feed his ego, yet not a peep out of you clowns. He has a past of cheating on his wife and being a generally horrible human however you religious folks pretend to look past that.

GFY.

I am not really a fan of any politician truth be told but I would seriously like to know why so many conservatives thought Obama was such a bad president. I do not necessarily disagree. I would just like it broken down for me from someone who genuinely thinks he was a horrible president.

What exactly made him a bad president?

Thanks in advance and I just want to be clear that I am not trying to be provocative. I am sincerely interested.

things i did not like-

1- trade deals. every trade deal his admin worked out lost money.

2- naming clinton sec of state. she destroyed the state dept with her cronies. one thing about trump is his dept heads are more experienced and knowledgeable which is why our economy is steamrolling now. i used to hate seeing nominations like obama names former playground construction specialist top nuclear scientist.

3-immigration and border control. did nothing policy wise. did change who was coming to america from single male laborers to whole families. but was tougher way tougher on illegals than bush or trump which i approved of. he sent home over 3 times the rate trumph has. trump is behind actually. they wanna round up that million because when obama left and trump came in they slowed down. got behind. if they catch those million and send home, then trump will still trail obama on being tough.

4- military. obama didnt seem to respect the fact that our military protects our freedom. guns protect our freedom. liberals think the world can be perfect.

5- blue collar healthcare, blue collar healthcare cost, blue collar job losses, and blue collar wage stagflation. nothing obama could help. only hurt blue collar bank accounts.

thats 5 for starters.

Broken down:

Trade deals - Don't like NAFA against TPP, etc.

Clinton - Don't like her.

Immigration - Weak border but approved of deportations.

Gun control - Opposed to it, Obama wanted it.

Healthcare - Don't like the ACA.

Cool thanks. I like to hear all kinds of views.

Glad you agree. Or are you just too lazy to try and refute any of it.

Haha. Is that a real quote?

Apparently. In truth he probably meant to say "Ramparts" but slipped. But no way were the Trump haters gonna let that one slide.

In fairness, Obama's 57 states remark was probably a similar slip and he caught hell for it from the conservative side.

It's all BS.

I have some time on my hands.

Trade deals - I partly agree. I hated the TPP but my econ friends liked it. I didn't like the corporate court side of it. I don't think the Iran deal was as bad as President Trump says it is. Last thing we need is another wasteful Middle East war. I know this isn't exactly a "trade deal" but deal nonetheless.

Clinton - Agree, absolutely don't like her.

Immigration - Partly disagree. Obama kicked out more illegals than people realize. This has never been a huge topic with me. I know it is for a lot of people. I am not trying to cop-out here, this is just honestly how I feel.

Gun Control - Disagree. I don't think Obama made any radical changes. I am for people owning guns with sensible background checks. NRA is a mess in my opinion. Especially with the Russian spy stuff and all the Ollie North / corruption issues going on currently.

Healthcare - Disagree. ACA is not perfect but the best thing I have seen coming from our bought and sold politicians (both sides). There is a fascinating book about the negotiation and history of the ACA called The Bitter Pill. Basically, there are some anti-capitalist games being played by the big pharma, medical supplies corp, insurance companies, and hospitals. No politician is willing to address the real issue - cost.

I do appreciate hearing different views on issues like these. I think its important people discuss differences of opinion like adults.

Good stuff

I actually believe that on a scale of 0-100 with 0 being far left and 100 being far right 90% of america falls into the 40-60 range.

The extreme ends are just trying to shift the midpoint left or right. And the media truly helps shift that.

It is funny I watched the first epsode of Family Ties a couple of weeks ago and was amazed that even then the storylines were the same.

Government redistribution of wealth, racism and inclusivity, etc.

We don't agree on everything but there is a bunch nuance in here and good material, well done!

Obama, “I have been to all 57 states.”

Top that one...
