Shortly after the Charleston, S.C., church shooting, I was driving US 17 South from Myrtle Beach thru Charleston and down to where it meets I-95. It was a Sunday morning. As anyone familiar with the route can tell you, there are numerous small, primarily black churches along the road. And every one that was open had armed men standing out front. I've often thought of that day and unfortunately just had to shake my head. It's times like this that I don't recognize the America that I read about in history books. Where does this absolute venomous hatred come from? Prayers to Buffalo, and, really, to us all.
