you better hope Trump is worth a **** because you have gone all in
Don't worry, appointing businesspeople for government who have no governing experience is going to be an unworldly success. One could say it's going to be bigly. Don't you know that multi-billionaires are much more ethically pure than government officials? Look for the next four years to go the way of the bush 8, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

The good news is, the chances of Trump actually making it all 4 years are slim. He'll resign or be impeached before that happens. The bad news is, that puts Pence in the big chair.

Pence is there for the same reason Obama put Biden as VP. People that hate the president want him gone but then they look at VP and think well maybe the current President isn't so bad. Regardless of how Trump's presidency goes, he has already turned the US into a laughing stock and the rest of the world has lost a lot of respect for our country. Good thing we spend all of our money on military I guess

What respect have they lost? No country respects us because of the last 8 years.

You, honestly, couldn't be more wrong. Travel outside of the US a little bit. I do about 300K miles a year and the vast majority of that is international. Your take on the world's opinion of Obama and the US during his presidency could not be further from the truth. Trump is a laughing stock.

With the way Trump ran his campaign and conducts himself in public, other nations see our citizens as that much more unintelligent. It's not that hard to understand

Yeah right. Guess OUR country didn't think Trump was a laughing stock. The people have spoken. Loud and clear.
MAGA.

I know you're trying to be sarcastic, but you've actually hit the nail on the head.

What's better from an ethical standpoint...doing something wrong out in the open, or doing something wrong, lying about it, covering it up, and then telling you about how great they are and how you should trust them?

Yeah, it's much better to be shot in the chest than stabbed in the back.

Both result in death

I've done my fair share of traveling, and what I've seen, is a world so fvcked up, the last thing I want is it's respect. Doing the right thing isn't easy, and it's not popular. It's very similar to posting on the internet...the more people disagree, the more I know that it's right.

Leaving Pickens county to go to Occonee county doesn't qualify as international travel.

Not even funny. Do you think you have to travel the world to be well informed on other countries? Please tell me that is not your position. You chatting it up with dignitaries?

You can tell yourself that but that's like Gamecock fans telling themselves they'd rather take 2 star recruits that their coaches want than 5 star recruits because they trust the coaching staff. The reality is people are pretty similar all over the world. "Doing the right thing" isn't some uniquely American thing. There are good people and good countries all over the globe.

Actually, to know what the rest of the world thinks about us, yes, it is helpful to actually visit other places in the world. Read the newspaper, watch the news, talk to the people on the street. That's how you know what other people think, not by sitting in your house reading right-wing news on the web.

Given that, overwhelmingly, the governments of the world are run by despotic tyrants, Communists, and Socialists, being considered a laughing stock might be considered a compliment.

Lot of pawsitive change coming from 45. The irony is that even the naysayers will benefit.
