A 2 loss auburn #2? Committee completely out of their minds. Tell me again how they don’t listen to ESPN. ESPN determines everything including the heisman. Baker is not a shoo in.

Note how they left bama hovering below at 5. They want bama back in so bad they can taste it and will do whatever they can to make sure it happens.
The CFP Committee is just like the polls, sec team gets more love and moves up more and down less than any other team from any other conference.
Bama's big wins, Miss St a 4 loss team and lsu a 3 loss team. Give me a break.
At any rate as long as we get in I really don't care about the others and where they may land.

If Georgia beats Auburn and Wisconsin loses to tOSU or OU loses to TCU look for 2 $EC teams to get in. Georgia and Bama. And you know thats exactly what they want to happen.

One thing about Alabama's schedule though. Programs schedule out of conference games years and years ahead of when the actual games are played. Hell they had FSU scheduled to open the season. A handful of years ago the SEC schedule was loaded. Alabama and most SEC teams had no reason to schedule a tough OOC slate of games. No way to predict the SEC overall would be down years later in 2017.

Well they did beat two so called #1 teams in a 3 week span, late in the season. That's a big thing. Couple that w/ OU beating WVU. Not such a big deal. This Sat we play a team we've already beat. TCU is now ranked #11. The lowest ranked team (that matters anyway), even if we win, we will not get any help. I'm actually glad they moved us to #3. Because sitting at #4 after beating a #11 we might have dropped out of the top 4.

Win and we're in.

Using that same logic, why are some teams penalized for a soft schedule like Wisconsin and others are not? If the sec was loaded a handful of years ago that has nothing to do with a schedule now but since certain teams that have a sec patch on their jersey they get a pass on a soft schedule they scheduled years ago? Why should the committee overlook that? If thats how they think they should scrap the whole thing and start over.

I keep hearing Bama is top 2 in both offense and defense "efficiency" but I don't even see those categories on the official NCAA stat website. Wiscy is actually #1 in total defense and Bama #2...both against some of the most woeful offenses that side of the Mississippi. Bama is 22 in total offense and Wiscy is 42 - hard to believe that is the great separator, especially after watching that offensive dreck Bama rolled out against Aubie.

Its the name Alabama that will get them in not their body of work as it should be and that is wrong. I think bama's SOS was like 62 or 67 before that Auburn game and they lost to a 2 loss team that day.
Teams should not get in on their name, its about putting the best 4 teams in there and looking at their body of work over the season.
Makes no difference when a schedule was made, years ago or yesterday, if your schedule is weak it should not matter how long ago it was made or when you made it you did so because the Conference at that time was stacked, well it aint now and thats what should count. What it was like 5 yrs ago or even last year is irrelevant. In my opinion tOSU should get in over Bama if tOSU wins Sat. Why a 2 loss tOSU? Well if Auburn wins they are a 2 loss team as well and will get in so why keep tOSU out? 2 losses would not keep an sec team out but it would a team with 2 losses from any other conference that won its CCG and they would put Bama in with one loss and no CONFERENCE TITLE over them. Sorry but this 4 team system is a farce.

Not defending Auburn here but beating two different #1 teams in a 3 week period is a pretty good resume.

I am ok with Auburn getting in if they beat Georgia again but to put Bama in over a team that won its conference and beat an undefeated in doing so would be wrong in my opinion. Thats why they have Bama at number 5. They are hoping Wisconsin or Oklahoma will lose this weekend then Bama is right back in.
Why should bama get in over tOSU if tOSU wins vs Wisconsin?
Does anyone truly believe if that had been any other team other than bama that they would only fall to number 5? I don't.
Anyway, I guess it will all work itself out this weekend one way or another but there are so many flaws with this Committee and System.

Not saying it's right for any team to be penalized. All a team can do for any particular year is win the games on their schedule.

It prolly does include a certain bias to Alabama given their current reputation. Same as OU still playing for the national title in 2003 after getting embarrassed by KSU in the Big XII title game. OU had that kind of reputation back then to give them a bump in the polls that went into the BCS rankings at the time. Not saying it's right, but Alabama has a bit if an edge with reputation these days.

OSU is ranked as one of the lowest 3 loss teams and they would kill LSU. Too bad isu got beat by ksu but if they did they still wouldn’t be ranked, unlike their darling MSU team.

Agreed. Auburn had their version of "Red October" when they beat the two #1 ranked teams in the last three weeks. They have lost 14-6 to Clemson to open the season (the game was not that close) and a 9-3 LSU team a few weeks ago. I'm okay with them getting the #2 spot. If all things stay the same, we'll get to see the Sooners and Tigers. But, let's get past the Frogs first!
