On a personal level I like it. I have to be in Chicago on Sunday morning, so I can still attend the game and fly to Chi-town that night.

Old school here, like 1:30 or 2.

Ironically, that being part the monopoly that OU and Georgia broke against the NCAA on game times, times on TV per season.

OU rocked their world and they've had a Sicilian vendetta ever since.

Sorry if this comment hijacks the thread, but I no longer believe the NCAA has a target on OU and UGA. Did they at one time? Absolutely, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge, there are bigger issues the NCAA is dealing with and a lot of those at the NCAA who had heartburn with OU and UGA more than 25 years ago are gone. We forced them to re-write the rules a long time ago and in the long run, everyone has benefitted from that change. The NCAA has plenty of problems, but OU is not one of them.

Now, back to the thread.... I've not seen the other games scheduled for that day, but I would think having two preseason top-10 teams going at it on Opening Day in a neutral stadium would guarantee a more fan-friendly (and big TV viewership) game time. I guess not.

From what I understand Schoonerman, there will be a triple header the day w/ other top 10 teams as well. OU / UH starts it off.

60,000 tickets already sold. Capacity 71,000 to 72,000. Somewhere I read that OU-Arkansas might be a future possibility in Houston.

Per Wiki, OU and UA are out and its Baylor and Ole Miss in 2020. But, BU may not play if they are on "double secret probation".

The line up on that day is OU /Houston @12:00 eastern, LSU vs Wisconsin. @ 2:30, and Alabama/USC & Auburn/Clemson at 7:00. All games on ABC except Auburn/Clemson which is on ESPN. Big article on game in Chronicle today. Called it the biggest game in UH history. As stated already 60K tickets sold.

Early ko's in Norman in Sept are never a good thing unless you like to bake and risk sunburn or heat stroke...
