Great call. The two special team mistakes made a huge swing in the momentum for TCU and quite actually, kept them in the game. Had those not occurred, especially the knee to the ground, OU could have won this one going away as the Sooners had the momentum at that point. Not to discredit TCU and their D, who was very, very good against our offense in the second half, but those two plays allowed the Frogs to keep it close. Way too close.

The defense was half a step slow all night. So was the OLine. Don't remember how many fouls on the offensive line, but it was up at five or more. Some were crucial. We didn't block them very well. And then when Baker left, we couldn't throw the ball at all.

I noticed that after Trevor came in, that the second receiver group came in alternating maybe three or four series. I think they did that because Trevor gets a lot more practice work with them than the ones and to give those guys a little break. We didn't react very well, to the coldest kickoff temp of the Stoops era.

When Perine and then Mixon went out, I got more than a little worried.

Yep, had a little Baylor hangover one could say in hindsight. That happens more than ya know.
We can only hope the team keeps their eye on the prize.

This year those prizes could be huge.

I think especially it happens when you have the circled game on your calendar a week in your rear view mirror and you've won. So yeah, The letdown was almost predictable. I also think some of our guys say TCU barely beat Kansas and it affected their prep intensity. We have several guys who aren't subject to that sort of thing. But more than half last night seemed to be.

Disagree about the D. Outstanding most of the night. 3 TCU TD's the result of big plays (2 long passes on opening series), the great run by the RB after the punting disaster and the 86 yarder the DB barely missed on. Like Baylor game kept the opposing O under control most of the night. Last possession the only legitimate drive. Had the offense been up to par would not have been a close game. Confident of the D going into Stillwater. The O, on the other hand. . . .

That fiasco on the low snap was the beginning of what could or perhaps should have been a defeat for the good guys...

Poetic justice perhaps in that this year it was the frogs turn to lose by a point.
