How does Texas receive 4 votes for the top 25 at 2-4?? Just as many votes as Tech lol

Here are their losses
  • Notre Dame- One loss on the road by two points against undefeated Clemson
  • Cal- One loss on the road by 6 against undefeated Utah
  • OSU- Undefeated
  • TCU- Undefeated
I don't think it's totally irresponsible for a few guys to vote them at 25.

Well maybe Texas got votes because their losses were to teams that entered yesterday with a record of 17 and 1 and the one loss was ND at undefeated Clemson. And then yesterday, thay gave a 9th ranked team their only loss.

Texas is not a great football team. But their talent is good enough to beat a good team if their special teams dont kill them. Yesterday, their shaky PK was dead solid. They won the kicking game with a ko coverage fumble recovery. They won the game in the kicking game. They did not just beat us. They looked like a better team on both sides of the ball.

So... We are voting teams in top 25 because they played good teams and got beat by 5-7 TDs? That's a disgrace

Texas could as easily be 4-2 right now, as well as us being 3-2 (Tennessee had us dead to rights).

Texas is not devoid of talent.

No.... WE aren't. I'm still waiting for my ballot. Did you get yours? And we are still ranked ahead of the team that got beat by 5-7 touchdowns by good teams that beat us.

I'm not defending the votes, just looking at the possible logic behind them.

Not only this, but Texas was just a handful of bad plays and bad calls from having 2 more wins. Had a few things gone UTs way against Cal and OSU, they could very well be 4-2 right now. That is a HUGE difference from 2-4 when it comes to perception with coaches voting for polls. Sounds like a few coaches took those things into consideration.
