OT/ Open ur GD Chip Bags upside down, idiots

Yeah, I said it. Stuck at home on a rainy Juneteenth watching yet another year with MSU nowhere near the CWS, and pulling for Coastal Carolina, so don’t care about your stupidass- feelings. Had this debate with dubmass family earlier. 17it, No excuse no to. My reasons for this rant are threefold:

1. The process of manufacturing, shipping, handling, and stocking settle all the “crummies” to the bottom. (The laws of gravitational segregation AND the laws of fracturing/surface area-absorption make all the flavoring bond to that newly exposed surface area and settle). Opening the bag upside-down re-distributes the “crummies” and seasonings evenly as you eat though the bag from the bottom.

2. The seaming and adhesive-construction in the bottom of the bag are typically weaker than the top, and make it an easier open; less susceptible to ripping and tearing. It’s the same reason to open cereal bags “upside down”.

3. Most bags are “top heavy” as to labeling. As you go through the bag, the contents of the bag remain legible for all to see, even with chip clips.

Been doing it for years because of the closure seam thickness on some snack bags. Gets some strange looks but I’m comfortable knowing something they don’t know.

Back in the '80's I worked at the Frito-Lay plant on Boling St. in west Jackson. Specifically, I was in packaging. The top and bottom seals on a bag of chips are the same and are formed by the same device at the same time. There is no difference in the two.
