Our team didn't get the results by way of wins, but the failure to shoot 3 pointers wasn't the reason. Ugusuk shot over 40% from 3 on 115 attempts. That is considered elite. Thomas shot 35% from 3 on 146 attempts. That's average. Our problem is that we had no playmakers. Every one of our guards had an assist to turnover ratio of about 1 to 1. We couldn't handle the ball without turning it over in close games and we didn't shoot free throws well. Both teams can find 3 point shooters why can't we?
Seems to me Ugusuk made 3's when he was uncontested. He might get better next year but I wouldn't count on it.Our team didn't get the results by way of wins, but the failure to shoot 3 pointers wasn't the reason. Same situation next year with Ugusuk, unless we have one or more playmaker/distributor PGs.Seems to me Ugusuk made 3's when he was uncontested. He might get better next year but I wouldn't count on it.
