Downs is hot as **** right now.

ETA He's 7 for his last 9 with 8 runs scored, 8 RBIs, and 21 total bases (4 HRs, 2 Doubles).

Exposure... we have a lot of alumni and fans on the coast. Mid week game.

Exactly. Plus it’s spring break week. There might be half as many fans as usual in Starkville. This is a really good job of scheduling.

We simply cannot put Highfill behind the plate in SEC play.

Out
(good call Karl)

In a related b!tch, I now know my truck's volume maxes out at 38. Who the 17 does that?!

Why go over 11?

I’m convinced this broadcast being filmed with an iPhone 3G is not optimal for replay purposes.

Hell of a play by Hinds

HH's play at first has been incredible so far this year. Hope he keeps that up while getting the bat going.

T9, 9 to 4 Dogs

I’m convinced they purchased all of these cameras from the Service Merchandise next to Metro Center.

Suddenly we have a CF cam!

And the audio is way ahead of video.

[Xenomorph]

Probably should have scored a few more but we’ll take the win. Need to complete the 6-0 run tomorrow leading up to SEC play.

Highfill was clearly safe.

Don’t even use replay if it can’t be better than that.

That's just an unbelievably terrible call.

I thought he might have over slid the bag. There was a moment where it looked like his top half was past and his foot wasn’t yet on it.

I'm really happy to see him having success. Seems like a good team that battled some injuries in years past, but always seemingly would do anything to help the ball club.

In an earlier interview Lemonis talked about how some guys just finally have everything come together late in their career and have a monster season (Rooker comes to mind).

He indicated Downs could be a guy like that. Hope it's prophetic.

What's incredible is that he's actually decent at blocking balls in the dirt when he's expecting a pitch that might go that way. But he can't catch a dang fastball if it's not thrown exactly to where his glove is. So many passed balls on pitches that a JV catcher with one eye could make.
