LOL… That used to drive me batty back in the 90s when you’d be verbally telling someone a web address and had to pronounce the triple doubleyoo…

Then I heard a British coworker saying it as “dub dub dub” and I just went with that from then on.

I always thought it should have been "trip-dub" or "tri-dub".

I’ve pondered this a little more, and realized one drawback… with the first option at least, I definitely would have received a call from my Mom saying “Please come over and reinstall Netscape for me, it won’t load trippedup.askjeeves.com even though I typed it just like you said!”

I’m thinking “threedub” would’ve been a cool shorthand. Kinda makes me wish mandatory “www” would make a comeback so I could use it.
