OT: DirecTV buying out Dish

I went to YouTube TV couple years ago and never looked back. I had Directv for years.

In the summer, we just turned the dish sideways and filled it up with water

There was a "mobile home" between Brandon and Raleigh at one time that had one of those original big arse 8' satellite dishes. They flipped it over and mounted it on 4x4's to make shade over a picnic table.

If you were to add mirrors to that satellite (like a mosaic), the end result would be a solar weapon capable of starting quick fires on sunny days at the focal point. You’d probably catch on fire if you were in the focal point

Probably start knocking down starlink satellites with that.

Saw some hillbillies sledding in one a couple years ago. I truly believe if Mississippi was in the Rockies it would be Idaho.
