Beamer ranked 12 best coach in SEC

So of the 5 new coaches in the SEC only one is ranked below Beamer. ouch

yeah- I'm conflicted about these rankings. I know Elko and DeBoer are really good coaches (esp. Elko, IMO)...but 2 years of really good numbers as HC in "other" conferences ain't the SEC. I know Sarkisian had a career year last year too....but....going forward it won't be that easy ever again. I think Kiffin, Freeze and Heupel are too low based off what they've been able to in conference and nationally already. I would put Lebby right along side Beamer and Pittman... and Clark Lea definitely last.

I don't have much a beef with Beamer's position relative to the coaches ahead of him.

There is probably not much separation between him, Napier and PIttman. Lea is definitely dead last. Don't really think you can rank Lebby yet since he has no track record.

You could quibble about the position of some of the guys in front of Beamer, but not sure you can make much of a case that Beamer should be higher.

Right now, he has the UT and Clemson games to his credit. If you take those 2 games out of the equation, his tenure would be considered a total failure so far.

You can't eliminate games to make a point, but I'm way over Beamer.

Lebby is on the bottom only because he is a first-year Head Coach. Check his background and his accomplishment as Offensive Coordinator. Good hire by Miss. State. I prefer to hire someone who has had proven success at the FBS level as a Head Coach because we have had more success going that route. But If I had to go with someone without Head Coaching experience, I'd hire Lebby without hesitation. The key to winning in college football today is offense. I don't know how he is as a recruiter, but I'd trade Beamer for Lebby TODAY. Besides, Beamer's calling card was recruiting. And his recruiting has lagged Muschamp's, Spurrier's and Holtz'.
