Game Thread: No. 19 Iowa vs. Northwestern

[lou v]

In Nicco we trust.

[catcrazy]

Yes. Lefty's rule and Iowans drool

[BFDCat]

LFG!!!

[AtlantaCat]

I hate Iowa. Like EvanstonCat hates OSU. Back to the pink locker room and Hayden Fry's comments about "hope their boys didn't get hurt out there" (I misremember the exact quote). Back to the WTF game in 2000. Their fat asses take over our stadium, no matter which one.

Honestly, no confidence about this one. But, please pull this one out, Cats.

[eddie_gocats]

FTH…leggo

[CappyNU]

What's the crowd ratio looking like for those who are there?

[bringbacktherantboard]

I knew that was going to be a QB draw.

[jensberg]

Well that was about as bad defense as you could possibly play

[Fanaticat98]

D line still sucks, no pressure.
DBs still suck or at least they’re not able to cover when DL gets no pressure.
RFitz got juked and gave up that TD run.

[AdamOnFirst]

Tackling already problematic.

[eddie_gocats]

Not good… hope Chip has a plan.

[CappyNU]

Broadcast said first opening drive score for Iowa in 9 games.

[HawkCat]

Well that was about as bad defense as you could possibly play

Yeah, that was shockingly weak D.

[jensberg]

So much for Iowa not having an offense

[AdamOnFirst]

Genuinely horrible tackling, like five missed tackles on that drive

[Fanaticat98]

Guess we’ll have to score 40+ to win this game. Don’t see that happening.

[TheC]

Need some DLs in the portal for next year

[AdamOnFirst]

Nicco can play a little bit

[eddie_gocats]

Wished we ran and gone for it on 4th…

[jensberg]

Got to come up with some defense have a chance in this game

[eddie_gocats]

Need some TNT…

[AdamOnFirst]

Wished we ran and gone for it on 4th…

Tough to play that style against Iowa with a backup QB. Gotta play a LITTLE field position with them

[AdamOnFirst]

Ooh, special teams mistake by Iowa!

[eddie_gocats]

Wall make some NOISE!

[Fanaticat98]

Having them backed up it would be a great time for a big defensive play…

RFitz needs to shake the rust off and our DL needs to start stepping it up. Zero pressure is frustrating.

[HawkCat]

Ooh, special teams mistake by Iowa!

A rare thing. Need to exploit it.

[Fanaticat98]

R Fitz and Brus both whiffing on tackles on a huge run, I don’t think this will be our day.

[AdamOnFirst]

Two more bad missed tackles including another by Fitz…

[HawkCat]

Fitzgerald does not look good tonight.

[BFDCat]

Defense just isn't good.

[jensberg]

Good grief a favor go 97 yd that would be incredibly deflating

[eddie_gocats]

Not a good 1st quarter

[HawkCat]

What happened to our tackling? I fear that we have a lot of guys playing hurt, which makes them tentative in tacking.

If Iowa scores a TD here, I think we'll have to start going for it.

[Fanaticat98]

Again. How do we suck so bad at tackling. I guess with no big expectations for the offense this game I can just watch without much stress. It would be more frustrating if Chiles was playing and our D lost us the game because they couldn’t stop Iowa.

[wildcatbonk]

Is Colby available?

[AdamOnFirst]

Defense ****** sucks. Mackenzie totally clowned in coverage there.

[LACatFan]

Good grief.

[HawkCat]

This could get ugly. Iowa looks way better.

I'm still frustrated.
