I live in Georgia too and we didn't see many of those ads here but they were rampant in other states. Watch this clip to see how stupid the Republican candidate in Montana looked while trying to pin trans nonsense on his opponent who stayed calm and composed during his rant and then note his response. It doesn't work anymore, it's a dead election issue.

And look at the ads they ran against him that didn't work. Forstag still won by 3 points in this deep red state despite the trans hysteria.

I will agree that trans ads should not be the centerpiece of the campaign strategy. It's definitely a live issue though especially if the dems try and start pushing it again.

LMAO... So let me get this straight... Graham was FORCED on SC? The SC governor picked her to serve the rest of her brother's term. Then she decided to run for the Senate herself. She got elected in the SC Republican primary after a run off. So she got voted for twice by Republicans in SC. How exactly was she "forced" on the state?
Are you this dense linus???

You are just some kind of woke freak!!!! I'm glad I live in Idaho (which stayed Red) and I don't have to worry about my daughter (Chloe) leaving for school in the morning and coming back as Cole that afternoon. That sounds like EXACTLY the kind of thing a Peditrician Dem Senator would support. Hell, she probably does the surgery herself!!
Pointing out an awful national strategy by the GOP (which showed up in the election btw that’s a fact) is “woke” so be it. You sound like a liberal who couldn’t believe the red wave when Biden sucked in office. Head in the sand and delusional.

And since you’re out of state I’ll explain our situation. Darleen to South Carolina was what Kamala was to dems. A handpicked candidate by the establishment nobody wanted.

maybe, but for president you have to appeal to more than just republicans. I'll say this though, if you compare records as governor against Newsom - housing, homelessness, budgets, economic growth - Desantis has much better record to run on.

If you ask from the perspective of the woke folks DeSantis is a Nazi and Newson is a Saint

It’s hard to get people to agree on anything as the goalposts are motorized and change as to the need of people not seeking to help people but to grab. More power

She wasn't forced in the sense that Kamala was forced on Democrats. They didn't even get a vote.

However, Darline was pushed hard. Trump campaigned for her twice. She was being pushed by Washington DC, not by South Carolinians and the people spoke. Just like they did when Trump beat Kamala.

I dont recall trans ads being the cornerstone of anything where im at. Like you said the performance while in office is the primary thing. I think hes doing a good job. He didnt create the cluster with housing and everything else. Housing prices are now dropping in GA Gwinnett county. The Iran deal im not happy with but i trust Trump.
same thing for me..I rotate my TV between northern VA and Orlando FL...trans ads were seemingly non existent....every once in a while someone might bring up boys in girls sports, but the main issues were cost of living and corruption - and corruption was in a general sense .."we need to eliminate corruption in Washington" which is kind of like "draining the swamp.\ IMO. By this time I would have thought we'd be selling condos on the land of the former swamps..we've been draining so long...but apparently it's still there

In 2019 median house price in Gwinnett county was 225-250 now it’s coming DOWN to 400-425 (not to mention interest rates are far higher now than in 19’) and mind you one county doesn’t account for the last 6 or so years of a trend. “Welp I know housing costs have doubled over the last few years but now they’re coming down 1-2%” isn’t a winning strategy to campaign on.

what’s a first time homebuyer supposed to do out there? Did median wages double over the last 7 years? You can’t save for a down payment quick enough to account for how high housing prices have gotten down here.

Did you run GOP national strategy? You seem to have your head buried about as much as they did.
the down payments are going to come from grandparents...those that have the money...that's why the country needs to keep funding SS and all the other programs for seniors.

Better stay on the good side of Grandma

yea, power is a great goal of many...Desantis has done a good job as governor...not perfect...which governor is?

No matter what, you have to like the governor of a state that has no income tax, will soon have no property tax for homes assessed at $500,000 or less and runs as efficiently as Florida does. Thank goodness for all the tourists. You should come on down..but bring a full wallet :)

You know what... I changed my mind... You are 100% right and I was wrong.

Donald Trump DID push for Graham and he pushed hard. And South Carolina Republicans did what they've done for YEARS, they let Donald Trump push them to their knees, and they opened their mouths and swallowed what he gave them. You guys didn't really have any choice at all. Trump said what he wanted and you HAD to let him do it.

Nope, just pointing out the absolutely INSANE **** that Trump spouts and you guys pretend to believe b/c Trump said it. And while I live in Idaho now, I moved from SC to Idaho after living in SC for 40+ years.

And like I said in another thread, the SC Gov. picked Graham to take over for her brother. She decided to run for his seat when election time rolled around. She won the Republican primary and then the runoff after it. The "establishment" didn't vote for her. The people of SC did. There were other candidates... but like they've been doing for years, SC Republicans took to their knees when Donald Trump told you what you wanted.

Just dropping a thought that is really forming in my mind

I really need to spend my time for the rest of my life on things I can control or get enjoyment from like my wife children and grands

My so has been really on on case saying I need to get out and be more socially active and let the politics go.

Thinking that might be good for me or maybe best term would be better for me

IT is discerning to see the level of discord in this country and lack of attempts at civility and just trying to get along

My dad used to tell me when he was in the Army they would say there could be a 1000 men in a group who would try to learn to get along

They would then sat don’t try to get two women to get along as it was not going to to happen

Not giving up but wish we could find more compromise and civility

We didn't have to do anything, unlike the democrats had to do with Kamala. For example, I voted for Ralp Norman.

But South Carolina did the Strom Thurmond thing for however many years and the voters soundly rejected that again. I'm not surprised and im not even that mad. Graham was a bad candidate, no fault of her own.

This is actually not a bad post (misogyny aside). This is one thing that I absolutely blame on the media. It's LOTS more fun to watch two people yell and scream at eachother than it is to watch a calm discussion. Ratings mean everything and that's the reason they show this stuff all the time.

my philosophy....for better or worse....years ago I came to the conclusion that no matter what I did, who I voted for no matter how much $$ I contributed to any cause..I was not going to be able to change the world...

The only thing I could control was myself and my family (although controlling my wife is really touchy). So I make my decisions based on that philosopohy... I do what's best for my family...I buy that way, I invest that way, I vote that way, I contribute that way...

Chasing windmills has never worked...all this political stuff is a game....politicians show you what they want you to see all the while doing a slight of hand under the table.

true, but we've created this environment of voting against someone as opposed to voting for. I'm a victim just like everybody else.

Casinos see a massive uptick whenever social security checks get cut every month. So more likely for a casino to get rich and benifits than some family member. Sounds like we need to cap these welfare queens not more tax breaks.
