This team is much more athletic than last yearsand no game thread. THAT about sums up this board.
Not even close either. I’m excited for this yearThis team is much more athletic than last years
They appear to have a couple more guys that can score too. This team is much more athletic than last years
Got three blocks on NWSt's first three trips down the floor. This team is much more athletic than last years
Jans has said he’s the best defender he’s ever coached. That’s some pretty high praise.Love Bassong. He's a wiry Cam Matthews.
For sure. I’m surprised Jeffries and cam aren’t in the nba off defense aloneJans has said he’s the best defender he’s ever coached. That’s some pretty high praise.
Wow!Jans has said he’s the best defender he’s ever coached. That’s some pretty high praise.
The NBA doesn’t like defense at all. This isn’t the 90sFor sure. I’m surprised Jeffries and cam aren’t in the nba off defense alone
Be careful, I heard the pen clickThe NBA doesn’t like defense at all. This isn’t the 90s

Better parking at my house. And I don’t get kicked out for smacking the concession stand worker’s bottom.More folks in this thread than at the game.....
We were all at the game. It was a good board meeting.and no game thread. THAT about sums up this board.
I think you can tell an awful lot regardless of the competition. But how they respond to adversity we won’t know until the competition ramps up.I’m always hopeful to start a season, but I caution you to consider the competition in these early games. It’s truly terrible.
He played mostly bench players the second half with various lineups.Kind of see a correlation between the two styles for the first two games.
Game 1 score 106 points but play no defense and give up 88.
Game 2 score only 82 points but only gave up only 44.
Game 2 shot poorly but win by 38. Defense really gets into the Legs if you play it very hard like the second half tonight where they only scored 18 points. Example: state shot 6-14 from 3 in the first half and only 2-14 in the second half. Tired legs mean forcing shots and not getting set. They will get better at shooting when the conditioning kicks in and the playing time is settled into about 9 players getting 20 plus minutes.
That about sums up MSU basketball fans as a whole because there weren't many in the stands eitherand no game thread. THAT about sums up this board.
Unfortunately, we are not a basketball school. Even when we were preseason good, no one shows up against a directional school and if they do, its going to be just sitting there and zero involvement in the game. That about sums up MSU basketball fans as a whole because there weren't many in the stands either
I was at the game and this was my take away as well. On the inevitable nights we are cold shooting from the perimeter, how are we going to score? We are going to struggle in the post from what I saw tonight.
I like the 6 total turnovers. I realize the competition wasn't stiff but early in the season and playing that many players 6 total turnovers is pretty good.He played mostly bench players the second half with various lineups.
82 points in college basketball is a good amount of points for a team.
Three point shooting is pretty awful still.
Like I said earlier in the thread this team is much more athletic especially in the front court.
Still remains to be seen good (or bad) they are but I think this group is better than last years team but sample size is small and we will just have to wait and see.
It’s just hard to care about cupcake basketball games when we’ve still got 4 football games remaining. Interest in Mississippi State basketball before New Years has always been mostly nonexistent. This is a CBK issue not a state one. Too much inventory and the season is ridiculously long.
We are going to struggle in the post from what I saw tonight.
