Not a Leach QB. In all likelihood he wouldn’t have signed him. The real what if is if Mullen could have coached him.Wet dreams for the long-suffering MSU fandom
Russell would have been perfect for Leach. If Leach could have coached Russell and Mullen coach Omarr Conner, those are my two favorite what-ifs.
I always said that about Omarr too. That guy was the perfect fit for Mullen. If Leach could have coached Russell and Mullen coach Omarr Conner, those are my two favorite what-ifs.
Turf toe can happen to anyone. It’s not really a “durable” thing.K1 doesn't seem durable enough for Mullen's offense.
He still can…Not a Leach QB. In all likelihood he wouldn’t have signed him. The real what if is if Mullen could have coached him.
Well he has had more than turf toe unfortunately. In High School lost time due to a lower leg injury and in last year's bowl game he went out with an ankle injury, which I believe required surgery.Turf toe can happen to anyone. It’s not really a “durable” thing.
Leach did not let his QBs run. He did not recruit running QBs. He did not want them. He wanted guys that could get the quick ball out, and that’s really all he wanted. KT is about as far from a Leach QB as you can get. He is completely unsuited for the Leach system. With the threat of run and the accurate arm , K1 would have killed it in the Leach system.

That is a good point and indictment of our OL recruiting and coachingK1 doesn't seem durable enough for Mullen's offense.
You do realize he was set up to have a 9-10 win season in 23 and his QB set records.Do yall forget that the conference‘s defenses figured out how to really limit Leach’s offense?qbs

KT would have done just fine in Leach's offense, as would anyone with that strong of an arm. Assuming he got the protection to throw deep and had some good receiver talent, he probaby would have put up insane numbers. Not a Leach QB. In all likelihood he wouldn’t have signed him. The real what if is if Mullen could have coached him.
He would have had to eliminate one of his greatest strengths under Leach. Leach did NOT allow his quarterback to run. His strong arm would not have featured under Leach either. Leach QBs were expected to get the ball out short, fast, and accurately, and that’s it. Running and a strong arm were irrelevant in that system.KT would have done just fine in Leach's offense, as would anyone with that strong of an arm. Dak 2015 says hello.I didn't say he was weak, fragile, soft, etc.
Mullen's QB's tended to be RO more than RPO.
Therir arms weren't their greatest strengths.
Kamario's arm is his.
We would have won a national title.Wet dreams for the long-suffering MSU fandom
Who would have been the QB? Leach would never have signed KT. He is completely and absolutely incompatible with the Leach system. He is about as far away from an air raid QB as you can get. His strengths are accuracy on long distance passes and running the ball. This is why I place no weight ever on what your take is.We would have won a national title.
My favorite what if is Tyson Lee with Kevin BarbayIf Leach could have coached Russell and Mullen coach Omarr Conner, those are my two favorite what-ifs.
Ehhh. Your post doesn’t really track with reality.Turf toe can happen to anyone. It’s not really a “durable” thing.
My favorite what if is the fantasy universe where Mullen signs Cam Newton, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, and Hurts consecutively. If Leach could have coached Russell and Mullen coach Omarr Conner, those are my two favorite what-ifs.
Leach would have adapted to a Heisman-tier QB's skillset if he'd gotten one.He would have had to eliminate one of his greatest strengths under Leach. Leach did NOT allow his quarterback to run. True dual threat QBs work in any system, dubmass. If you want another example, see Johnny Manziel.Who would have been the QB? Leach would never have signed KT. State fans are really dumb about football, and especially the quarterback position.I didn't say he was weak, fragile, soft, etc.

This is how you sixpack gentlemen! My favorite what if is Tyson Lee with Kevin Barbay
Would he have? I thought Leach pretty much just ran his system, period....Leach would have adapted to a Heisman-tier QB's skillset if he'd gotten one.
No he wasn't. There was going to be a drop off because the defensive talent was running out.You do realize he was set up to have a 9-10 win season in 23 and his QB set records.
Leach never would have signed him. Not his kind of QB.True dual threat QBs work in any system, dubmass. If you want another example, see Johnny Manziel.
You just have some redass that folks are now finally appreciating Leach the way they should. It's funny when you get all in your feels.
You is a dumb, stupid boyLeach never would have signed him. Not his kind of QB.
Well, it happened on a what looked to be a fairly routine tackle in the Missouri game. I am starting to wonder if K1 can stay healthy for a full season. Some guys just seem to be prone to injury (like Shapen) and others, like Arch Manning, can take blow after blow and pop right back up for more. Just not sure K1 is built to be very durable.Turf toe can happen to anyone. It’s not really a “durable” thing.
Just curious, do you think K1 was not accurate enough for Leach, or that he takes too long to make his reads?Leach never would have signed him. Not his kind of QB.
Yep, that's what the older hard-liners can't understand.Just curious, do you think K1 was not accurate enough for Leach, or that he takes too long to make his reads?
I get that Leach would not have cared that K1 can run, but he wanted passers who were accurate and made quick decisions. It's not like Leach demanded QB's who COULDN'T run. K1's mobility would just be a bonus on those plays where he couldn't make the quick read and had to scramble.
I think receiving group in Leach's system would have been the thing to dream about. So much speed.Wet dreams for the long-suffering MSU fandom
