Why is she sending messages? I thought she was in charge. Like four weeks in a row (except for the Maryland week) I was reliably told by the Rutgers Insiders™ on this very message board that she would be firing Schiano by "Monday morning."
Who exactly said she was firing him by Monday?

Coaches use the media all day to send messages. See Saban doc. Was he not in charge of his football team?

ADs are no different. How refreshing to see from Keli.

We are beyond sending messages. Should have fired him on the bye week.
Do people not understand the financial situation? Let's see what happens, but if he is still after this season it's because they could not find the money to get rid of him. If they do find the money watch how many will complain about Rutgers wasting money on athletics.. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think the big ten is invested in Rutgers becoming a good program so things may happen. Although the college football bubble may soon burst. Especially with kids dying on the field recently..

I don't think she is using social media to lay down the hammer. She is giving us the meeting minutes and letting us know notice of expectations has been given.

The key phrase is “should be performing at …”

That doesn’t suggest firing is in her plans. If it was, he’d be gone already. She needs the money to do it.

Spending is 9th??? Keli has to be wrong with her numbers. Delusional Al and a gaggle of others say there's no way we are investing mid-pack in the B1G. She better check with the accounting office.

We aren't even close to the teams that spend lower tier. And those numbers don't include how much we spend yearly operationally which is upper tier. Our operation football budget is $10MM more than Oregon's lol

You're so full of ****. You've been suggesting/stating/imploring/begging/arguing (and attacking anyone who suggested otherwise) that based on Rutgers Insiders™ information (you met Zinn's husband at a golf outing; you're practically an assistant AD - lmao) that Greg was going to be fired before the season ended because that's what the donors (again LMAO) wanted. The truth is you don't know anything now; you didn't know anything then; and you will continue to not know anything ... yet pretend over and over again that you do.

NEWSFLASH TO THE RUTGERS MESSAGE BOARD COMMUNITY: Nobody who posts on here knows anything and has any influence.

The school has no money and no desire to spend money on athletics. Anyone with a heartbeat and two functioning brain cells knew she wasn't firing Schiano during the season (despite your Rutgers Insiders™ information - LOL). She probably doesn't even have the authority to unilaterally fire him.

You're an incredible liar. Your quote was " I was reliably told by the Rutgers Insiders™ on this very message board that she would be firing Schiano by "Monday morning.""

I asked for proof who said he was getting fired on any Monday morning. Answer, a link to no one saying he was getting fired any Monday morning.

Suggesting when would be a good time to fire someone and saying someone is getting fired Monday are two completely different things. Even a first year law student would recognize that. But you couldn't lol. #Moron

I encourage anyone interested in this remarkably stupid conversation to go to this thread (LINK TO THREAD) and then decide for yourselves if Caliknight was merely "suggesting" that it would be a good time to fire Schiano or if he was pretending that he has Rutgers Insiders™ information (as he has been doing all season), stating definitively that it was happening (at that moment and before the season was over), and suggesting his interim replacement should not be Travis Johansen because someone else on the staff would "probably have a better chance of getting the guys to play harder."

Your numbers cover only part of what she said.

She said “roster, facilities and salaries”. Where does Rutgers rank when you add those other two spends to NIL?

Very clearly she's saying when operations are are calculated, we are 9th in the league. Makes sense given how massive Schiano's staff is.

It is inevitable: People will complain about "wasting money on athletics." No matter what, they will. Even if Schiano gets a stay of execution, "they" will complain, although the makeup of "they" will shift a bit. The cry then becomes, "Why are we wasting money on this guy?"

The Greek chorus cannot be the ones who make your decisions. That's no way to run anything. Competing in the Big Ten is extraordinarily expensive; it probably costs more than it yields. But as I've said before on this subject, if you're in for a penny, you're in for a pound. And just letting a football program sputter aimlessly like this is no way to maintain justification for membership.

If Rutgers wanted to reverse course and say, "you know, forget it. This just isn't worth it," I'd get that. It certainly does not need football to be a world-renowned university. But that isn't going to happen. They remain committed to this course, and if they are, then the situation demands something significantly better than anything Schiano has to offer. But I don't think Rutgers can count on any help from the Big Ten to take care of its essential responsibilities here. Rutgers will have to figure this out itself.

Keeping him on after last season's faceplant (2-7 in conference) for financial reasons was a choice. After this debacle, there really is no choice, not if Rutgers ever expects to be taken seriously in this context and has any hope to justify its receiving its share of conference revenue.

Or they got a new computer and couldn't remember the password. But you're right, I probably changed specifically to hide that I was previously several variations of "RutgersHouston." That's why when my first account was suspended 20 years ago (for saying Schiano was a terrible gameday coach), I hid my identity by signing up again as RutgersHouston2.

You're such a know-nothing dope. But at least you are caustic about it!

GS is in 7th year of 2.0 and he's addressing media (with admins present) with comments about how "we're getting better" when team has only beat a cupcake (Howard) and a tomato (Maryland). A few more games were winnable but coaches just cant pull any rabbits out of their hats because offense is intentionally decaffeinated as a goal.
