Not worried about them, just pointing out how much FUN they are to watch. They have taken twenty (20) threes in the first half.
They are short, so our height will be an incredible advantage. However, their pesky guards will make ball-handling difficult for Diallo, Wilkins and Momcilovic. Our bigs should get all they want in the paint !!!

Why would you be worried? If we go 2-4, there's a very good chance Pope will be relieved of his duties.

I have no interest in firing a coach mid-season. If the guy wins the SEC, suddenly the 2-4 doesn’t seem so bad. But I sure as heck won’t be too enthused about going into the SEC with 3-4 losses.

Never said he would get fired mid season. The only way Pope gets fired, is if he loses and loses a lot.

Me too sadly. I’d take 4-2 honestly. We just need to win 2-3 against UofL, IU, UNC. If we lose all 3… ugh I can’t take that.

Thanks, but props are not really deserved. Like you, I rarely watch games other than KY games (and do not watch them if I have something better to do, like a concert) ... but I wanted to watch this game because I was interested to see how Jordan Frison performed. He was a quick portal guard that I mentioned here way back as a possibility for Pope to look at. A quick, pesky, darting player, he's the type that always seems to give us problems. He did not have a good shooting game (2-11), but did display the kind of extreme quickness that I thought he would show, having transferred in from UT-Chattanooga. I thought Barnes would pick him up, as a Ziegler type, but he ended up at Wichita State. He, along with several other of their guards that play together, can get to the rim any time they want to, it seemed to me.

I clearly think we'll easily handle Wichita State, but their guards may present unique defensive challenges because of their quickness and ball-handling.
They all QUICKLY and ADEPTLY drive, draw and dish out for spot-up threes. They took twenty (20) threes in the first half, so they are not bashful to stroke it from beyond the arc. If they are hot, it could get interesting, but I will be surprised if we don't beat them by at least twenty (20) points ...

We certainly could have covered. Pope wisely chose to spread the wealth some on minutes. Refs also did their usual questionable things when teams start to sprint past the spread.

But covering doesnt matter anyways so not sure why other poster cares. I mean if we won by 6 and didnt cover thats one thing but 28 on full coast. Come on.

I would try to go, if you can, as it might be interesting and entertaining .. . the size differential is enormous, creating a David vs Goliath type vibe.
Your child might enjoy the cat-and-mouse nature of our defense chasing their guards. My 2 cents ... fwiw
