I hated Cal for the better part of a decade? That's wrong. It was the covid team that turned me. That was 20/21, so 4 years and there was a lot going on there that brought that on. Barking at the fans and calling us Bennies, while you're getting smoked by mid majors at home, isn't a good look.

But again, I complimented him when he did good things, that's not happening with the Pope haters.

And what did Pope do to deserve the hate? Did he bark at fans? No, he played the 2 toughest SOS's in UK history with heavy injuries… .that's it.

But that's not the only thing, the haters go on full attack mode towards anyone they deem a "pumper". If they didn't do that, I wouldn't say sh*t.

And this is more than just a job for Pope. That's not even possible.

When you constantly bring up his religion and use it as a reason to crush him, it's not far fetched to believe they hate him due to his beliefs and morals… .in addition to him not being good enough.

The above was the harshest criticism during the game thread when Manhattan college, a team thats going to be outside of the Kenpom 250, had just WON the first 8 minutes of the game. No comments about his family or his religion, it was pretty PG-rated all around. I'm not saying that someone randomly doesnt bring these things up every now and then.. but then again, they did this to Cal all the time and you didnt say a word.

Im providing you MY proof that barely anyone is saying the stuff you claim they are saying. We were losing to Manhattan University 10 minutes in and I didnt see a single personal attack on Pope, his family, or his religion.

Youre blowing this "hatred" for Pope way out of proportion.

Another false statement. This place had a very defined dividing line. There was a lot of arguing in here daily and Cal supporters had no problem defending him at every turn.

And I find it ironic that it wasn't okay to call Cal names on an internet forum, while he was trashing us in televised press conferences after almost every game. I don't see Mark Pope trashing us though.

They've painted themselves into a corner to the point where even if Pope gets this team to the FF, they have to pick it apart with negativity. The old "I'm eating crow tonight" won't work, because all this time, like you said, they have refused to say a single positive thing about him.

That 24/25 season was damn good considering he had no team, or coaches in April and he built the team out of mid major kids, but these jokers act like he went to the NIT and lost 20 games. It’s over the top and it most certainly is hate at this point.

I was a huge Cal fan and stuck up for him endlessly, until it was clear that he didn't give a sh*t about UK, or winning. He coached for the NBA draft, so he deserved what I said about him.

Also, huge difference here, if he did something good, I was the first one to come on here and give him his flowers. That is much different than the hate getting thrown at Pope even though Pope would give his right arm for UK.

Pope just started year 3, nobody gets fired after 2 years unless they do something stupid.

The Calipari we saw from 2020-2024 was a baboon and he mocked us on camera. Did Pope mock us? Is Pope playing players that are aimed at the NBA draft instead of winning? Is Pope losing to Mid majors at Rupp? Is Pope losing to mid majors in the NCAAT?

Don't act like Cal was innocent. His actions were purposeful and he stunk his last 4 years.
