You claimed something “rarely” happened and I immediately provided multiple examples. You got owned. That’s not the same as being trolled. You’re coping (again)

for real, this will only get worse for you if you want to keep going. Take your L and move along.
Hush, I didn't join this thread to get in a pissing contest with you so if you want to feel like you won a prize, then I'll just say goodie for you and congrats.

Following the revelations that fraudulent outfits like Wedgewood Polls and Median Strategies fabricated election data under the guise of a "social experiment", legitimate pollsters, election analysts, and industry leaders responded with strong condemnation, defensive pushback, and swift data retractions. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

1. Active Exposés and Initial Pushback
The controversy was actively brought to light by legitimate aggregators and research firms rather than a passive trick. [1, 2]
    • FiftyPlusOne actively investigated and confronted Wedgewood Polls after detecting inconsistencies in their data. When Wedgewood publicly claimed that aggregators did not vet them, FiftyPlusOne published a direct rebuttal stating the charge was false. They proved they had questioned the firm, reviewed its methodology, and verified that the individuals involved had documented industry experience before the fraud occurred.
    • Other major tracking platforms like Decision Desk HQ swiftly identified the issue and removed up to 17 fraudulent surveys from their active averages. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

2. Statement-by-Statement Media Defense
Major aggregators defended their onboarding processes while admitting to the vulnerability. [1]
    • The New York Times quickly removed 15 fabricated surveys from its database. In an editors' note, The New York Times explained its vetting process, detailing that Wedgewood had successfully answered structured screening questions regarding their funding, personnel, and survey panels before being aggregated. The Times emphasized that while these numbers made it into their tracker, they were never factored into the paper’s primary national or congressional modeling averages. [1, 2, 3]

Has your flip phone been getting bombarded with annoying political texts over the last few weeks
ha, good one...no, just so many adds which anyone with a brain could tell are promises that can't be kept...Congressional candidates promising low home insurance rates in a state...Va sen Warner promising to end stock trading in Congress (he's been in the Senate for 18 years), promises to put money in my pocket, promises to lower food costs and on and on....haven't seen much about boys in girls sports this go around, maybe that issue is waning,,

too much time, lies and money in our politics

by the way, I'm a modern octogenarian..iphone 16, I stream all my TVs, no land lines....I can even cut and paste...and AI is now my friend

you know dpic, after poll results from recent elections, while I'm sure there are rationalizations, even major pollsters like Luntz have remarked that the industry needs help...

Communist Democrats are as low on the totem pole as you can go. Communists certainly aren’t American
You are in a group think cult. I havent heard anyone propose communist policies. This must mean you've just made that up. Or worse, you actually believe politicians when they tell you that. Its a completely made up statement with no basis for reality.
Didnt Trump take over portions of Intel? Thats communist adjacent. That might be the most communist thing ive seen this century

Democrats want to tax your money at outrageous rates and they want to spend it on DEI. And they will turn a blind eye to their buddies committing fraud. Just like they turned a blind eye to the border and just like they turned a blind eye to the Learing Center

They will never be satisfied with the amount of taxes they can confiscate from you. It will never be enough.

They think they know how to spend your money better than you do, despite most of them showing an iq less than AOC.

Democrats need to get back to their 90’s platform.

Now now, they also plan on using our stolen tax dollars to fund gender studies programs in Pakistan and transgender comic books in Peru. Priorities!

Dems have literally been calling to imprison Elon musk and nationalize his companies. You are indeed the party of communist losers
Elon had 32 open investigations into him before Trump took office. The DOJ has never been more political than it is now. Just look at all the Trump DOJ prosecutions that have been thrown out of court.

Dude is the richest person in the world. Owns businesses shooting stuff into space. Operating robots on our roads. You would be crying IF HE WASNT UNDER INVESTIGATION. He should be under investigation. They should be investigating why he is running circles around everyone else. So far they haven't some up with anything other than he may have hurt some seals ears when his rockets launch. Hopefully dems get back in office so we can get some more regulations for the seals.

It’s gonna be good eating tonight boys

Nobody has predicted that Democrats would win Florida so not the flex you think it is but party affiliation doesn't tell you how they voted this time around either. Also, it needs to be pointed out that non-Republicans make up a much larger bloc than Republicans in Florida so it will still be tight, though I still expect the Pubs to pull out narrow victories.

Yes you are. You ignore the maga trolls when they team up to attack me en masse but quickly scold me when I respond. The one time you should live up to "bothsides ned" you only see one side, which makes you a hack.
well, not to be confrontational, but isn't it pretty difficult to be both sides ned, (not my chosen designation by the way) and still be a hack...I've come to your "position" at times...besides, you seem to do ok without my help, and I tend not to join in the back and forth name calling...not my style

Now if being a hack means you only see one side....no mirrors in your house?

But you did jump into it and scold me only when I responded to this.

The lesson everyone has learned is you have zero character or integrity.

Why didn't you scold him?

Here in Maryland, my ballot is going to be strange. I, a non-MAGA Republican, will be voting for Dan Schwartz over Andy Harris.

Harris is just a stooge for Trump, and has done very little for his District since he has been in Washington. Where my ballot will be strange is that I’ll be against Question 3, which is the Gerrymander question. If your familiar with Maryland, MD District 1 (Andy Harris’ district) is the lone Republican district in the state. A State where 40% of the electorate are registered Rs, only 1 district is red. District 1 includes the top of the Bay and the entirety of the Eastern Shore. If Question 3 passes, District 1 would be gerrymandered in the most egregious and obscene way. The Top of the bay would be redistributed to essentially Baltimore county/city, and the Eastern Shore would now include a corridor that ravages across the bay, include Annapolis, Bowie, some of PG County up to Laurel. For those who don’t know Maryland, that will mean nothing to you, but for those that are ….. its absolutely obscene. It’s so egregious that even Kwasi Infume said it was ridiculous.

I fully expect it to pass because … this state … F! I hate this f’n state… but at least Dan Schwartz is from the Shore, so if he wins our Representative won’t be some liberal retard theybee from Annapolis in 2028.

I also fully expect this F’n state to re-elect Temu Obama/Wes Moore who through his policies wrecked the state economy, credit rating, infrastructure, and to top it off made $8Billion dollars disappear and can’t explain where it went.

as soon as my youngest is out of HS, we are out of here. Just hope I can hang on that long.

I grew up on the Eastern Shore and couldn't leave that s.hithole fast enough.

I read all 78 posts across both pages. One caveat up front: I didn't fact-check anything here. That includes the polling numbers, the "fabricated pollsters" story and the Nate Silver/NYT claims. If you want those verified like I did with the fraud thread, say so.

The thread

It's a midterm-eve trash-talk thread. The pattern is the same one from the other threads: about 10 posts of actual predictions, then it turns into Scrubby vs. dpic73 and the old bet-welching grudge. A smaller side fight about "Democrats are communists" starts around post 44. Warlock opens and closes it with blood jokes ("I'm going to drink all the blood").

Best

baltimorened (9 posts): the only adult in the room.
He talks about real things: misleading campaign ads, and Frank Luntz saying the polling industry needs fixing. He also posts the 27/27/46 R/D/independent split. When dpic73 called him a "partisan hack" and made old-age jabs ("Have you had your jell-o?"), he stayed calm, refused to get into the name-calling, and gave the best reply in the thread: how can he be "both sides ned" and a hack at the same time? He's the reason this isn't a 2.

PAWrocka and LafayetteBear: one good post each.
PAWrocka, a non-MAGA Republican from Maryland, explained his actual ballot: he's voting against Andy Harris and gave his reasons. LafayetteBear gave a firsthand account of the ad blitz in NJ/PA. Both were real content with no fighting.

Jfcarter3: one good question.
He asked whether polls would still be "fake" if they showed a Republican wave. It's the best point anyone made against Scrubby's argument, and nobody answered it.

firegiver (2 posts): reasonably substantive.
He pushed back on the "communist" label and brought up the open Musk investigations. He opened by calling someone a group-think cultist, though.

In between

ClemsonInAtlanta (4 posts): rough language, mostly right targets.
He called Scrubby, fatpiggy and TigerGrowls "the threesome of retardation," and called fatpiggy "Unamerican trash." The slur is a cheap shot and he could've made the point without it. But two of the three earned it: Scrubby spent the thread calling people liars and idiots and waving off every poll as fake, and fatpiggy just kept repeating "Democrats are communists." "You have never been correct about anything" aimed at Scrubby is about as fair as it gets in this thread. TigerGrowls is the stretch, since his only post here was a straight prediction. "Unamerican trash" was a counterpunch to fatpiggy calling Democrats communists, not something Clemson started. He also made one of the few substantive points in the thread: the Trump administration is the one taking government stakes in private companies.

Worst

JohnHughsPartner (3 posts): zero content, and the worst post in the thread.
His three posts are "Holy shitte," a flip-phone dig, and calling dpic73's GIF a "phaggot gif." It's the same pattern as the lib-cult thread.

Scrubby (17 posts): the engine of the thread.
He has some real points. Selzer's Iowa poll really did miss badly, and his "rarely" comeback landed on dpic73. But most of his posts are:
  • Rehashing the welch for the hundredth time, plus "cult life" and "bless your heart."
  • Insinuating that dpic73 was the one in photos "passed out in a puddle of his own puke, high on drugs (and naked)." That's the lowest personal hit in the thread.
  • Calling dpic73 a "flailing liar," calling another poster an idiot, and repeating the "transgender comic books in Peru" line.
  • Stating "Republicans win in Michigan, Texas, Ohio" as fact, with "mostly fake polls" as the only support.

fatpiggy (8 posts): pure talking points.
He calls Democrats communists over and over, and when challenged he just restates it louder. His "Kamla up by 12 in Iowa" opener was a decent jab, though.

PedMaller3 and PapaGanoush: drive-bys.
Both showed up only to say "welcher." Given his record in other threads, this is PedMaller3 on his best behavior.

dpic73 (21 posts, the most): he deserves blame too.
He brought the most data: Polymarket, NYT/Siena, the WaPo column, and the right distinction that Polymarket shows odds, not margins. "ONE pollster ≠ ALL pollsters" is a fair point. But:
  • He keeps saying he's done with the trolls and then answers every one of them, 21 times.
  • He made the "soil your diaper" jab.
  • His worst moment was turning on baltimorened, the one person not attacking him. He made ageist cracks, called him a "partisan hack," and accused PapaGanoush of running three handles and acting "like a stroke victim."
He's being ganged up on, and that's real. He also makes it worse every time.

Overall: 3.5/10

It's a 3.5/10. There are maybe five posts of actual election discussion, and the rest is the welch grudge plus the communist argument. The best thing about it is that it has an expiration date: by tomorrow night one side will be eating crow. The thread will probably be worse then.
