She's been id'd. Nathalia Filguerias (Sp.?).The lady pilot everyone thought it was is still alive. Clearly a woman on the audio so either that is fake or it was a different woman pilot/copilot.
Storm was at 30k high so they tried going over it when they were about 9 miles out.. Within about 20 mins the storm grew to about 60k high and they ran into cold air of about -58°.. Just poor judgment on pilots sounds to me..Lears dont have the best mx record. Id like to get a look at the on board radar they had. Pretty shocking they flew right into a storm, but not shocking at all the storm brought them down. Precip at that altitude and temperature is a horrific sign and they certainly encountered severe turbulence.
Their radar should have picked up that storm in front of them, but it doesnt seem like it based on the radio calls leading up to the accident.
Yeah she got IDed as copilot. ******* XShe's been id'd. Nathalia Filguerias (Sp.?).
Have a buddy that sent me the audio. I can't bring myself to listen to itI won't listen to the audio. Been around too much death in my life, and try to (as much as possible) not let overtly negative things into my head nowadays.
Hopefully they were unconscious prior to impact. Just awful.

It's terrible, IMO don't do it. Bad enough that I had to talk about it with ChatGPT just to get some clarity on my own feelings and perspective about life in general. I will never be able to listen to that one again.Have a buddy that sent me the audio. I can't bring myself to listen to it
It's not there. Completely sheared off.If you look close enough, it does in fact appear that the horizontal stabs are there. Faintly, but the speed blurred them. The one on our left (plane's right rear) looks like a shadow. I can't really tell if the left rear is there.
You have to go to ChatGPT to help you with life problems? It's terrible, IMO don't do it. Bad enough that I had to talk about it with ChatGPT just to get some clarity on my own feelings and a perspective about life in general. I will never be able to listen to that one again.
It’s rough reading through this thread and all the conclusions for people who don’t have all the facts and don’t understand aviation but continuously reading people express negative comments about this girl with the misunderstanding that she was alone in the cockpit or, worse, with her boyfriend is pathetic. Sometimes gross. But, I knew when I entered the thread on this board that it would include some insanity.Dont question her at all. There is also far too much focus on just her since its her voice on the radio. She was not the only pilot in that cockpit.
Cannot imagine what she and the others went through in those final moments
Whatever you do then, don't watch the Sinaloa Chainsaw Massacre. It's terrible, IMO don't do it. Bad enough that I had to talk about it with ChatGPT just to get some clarity on my own feelings and a perspective about life in general. I will never be able to listen to that one again.
Let me guess: along with every other conceivable subject known to man, you in fact "understand aviation." I never said she was alone in the cockpit. I did mistakenly think she was flying with her boyfriend. Get over yourself and stop being the board hall monitor. It’s rough reading through this thread and all the conclusions for people who don’t have all the facts and don’t understand aviation but continuously reading people express negative comments about this girl with the misunderstanding that she was alone in the cockpit or, worse, with her boyfriend is pathetic. I don’t think the temperature was unusual for their altitude. At least that was suggested by that YouTube pilot that analyzes accidents.Storm was at 30k high so they tried going over it when they were about 9 miles out.. Get over yourself. People on a Uk sports message board have zero effect on "letting the experts do their job" and I bet you a dollar to a donut "that girls living family" has no idea this board even exists. So exactly what "harm" is being "caused?" How are we affecting the experts ability to do their jobs? Like I said, you really should get over yourselfI don’t think the temperature was unusual for their altitude. At least that was suggested by that YouTube pilot that analyzes accidents.
Beyone the Bernoulli effect I don’t have a clue how metal stays in the air and don’t pretend to. Again, I don’t pretend to. So, I try to keep my initial emotional responses to a minimum and let the experts do their jobs, realizing that girl has a loving family who is grieving her loss and rank speculation can only cause harm.
Back atcha Peanut.Get over yourself.

I have watched that one, years and years ago.Whatever you do then, don't watch the Sinaloa Chainsaw Massacre.
The Dagestan Massacre is awful too. It really, really messed me up for a while. I never watch anything like that anymore. My constitution can't take it.I have watched that one, years and years ago.
Ah man I’m so sorry to hear that. So awful. May he RIP brother. My stepbrother's plane went down like that. They dropped about 15,000 feet in 90 seconds or so, out of Kandahar and spiraled in. Nothing left. They were trying to climb out of some weather and stalled.
Thanks, manAh man I’m so sorry to hear that. So awful. May he RIP brother.
It may very well end up being pilot error, but there is nothing close to conclusive evidence it definitely was. There are certainly factors that could have played a large role here no one is talking about. The more info that comes out, the uglier this gets.
Atc warned them well in advance of their course heading into dangerous storms. This particular plane being very dangerous in bad weather.
No real info on why they decided to make the reckless decision to fly into it anyway.
She was one of two and not the captain. She's not even old enough to hold an ATP certificate. The blame does not belong to her for a multitude of reasons. Had she not communicated so effectively, no one would have considered blaming her. She became the face of this because of those radio calls and no other reason. Take the distressing radio calls away and people are only asking about the captain. It’s rough reading through this thread and all the conclusions for people who don’t have all the facts and don’t understand aviation but continuously reading people express negative comments about this girl with the misunderstanding that she was alone in the cockpit or, worse, with her boyfriend is pathetic. The bad part is we may never actually know all of the details.
I heard one pilot comment that the information she provided was clear and better than most pilots provide. She was one of two and not the captain. She's not even old enough to hold an ATP certificate. The blame does not belong to her for a multitude of reasons. Had she not communicated so effectively, no one would have considered blaming her. There is almost never a plane accident that can be attributed to a single cause or error. The NTSB will look for multiple reasons why this plane went down and make recommendations to make sure it never happens again.I really appreciate your input on this issue. Out of curiosity, would the decision to fly that plane into that weather amount to what is defined as pilot error?
I didn't know if that analysis only starts at the beginning of the incident or not. Sounds like after their poor decision, the outcome was out of their hands.
I’ve never understood the entire “more likely to die in a car” well yea but statistically that makes no sense. Let’s assume there are 10’s of millions of planes in the air at the same time. Now do the math. And it doesn’t matter anyway, I’d rather not die like that. Imagine what that father with his 2 kids dealt with for the last 4 minutes of their lives. With his wife, omg.I've been saying these things for a while now. I used to fly without anxiety, rode every roller coaster I could get to and I used to climb cell towers, but now, I refuse to do any of it.
In 2008, I had the absolute crap scared out of me in a 4 seater over lake erie. That plane shot up a long way when we hit a wind shear. The pilot was struggling and the AT controller came over the radio, called out our call sign and in a paniced voice, told us to get down, "there is heavy traffic in your path", at that point, the plane was trying to roll, I was being pressed against the side.
That changed everything for me.
The audio from this crash here, might be the most terrifying thing I've heard since 9/11. That is definitely not the way I want to go. I get the stats say it's safe, but it's not safe enough for ke to risk a terrifying fall from the sky.
How the hell does a plane crash post lead you to writing a novel about your particular situation and desire to move to New Zealand and having sht ton of guns?I’ve never understood the entire “more likely to die in a car” well yea but statistically that makes no sense. more likely to die - car
More likely to die the most terrifying and tormenting death other than a deep sea octopus? - Plane
I remember when the “I’m not scared to fly” group was jumping for joy in 2020. Everyone telling them do not leave the country. They saw cheap airline tickets and thought hell yea, went on ahead the 747.
Ended up the Covid outbreak and their kids were stranded in other countries, some of them had no communication at times, in some cases families split in different parts of the globe with no way home. My college friend’s family went to India? IIRC it took all of them a month to get back to America.
I’m Good. Only chance I do is if I end up doing dual citizenship in New Zealand. I’m greenzoned there and have a lot of money being offered working 25 hours per week in an easy sector living in the most beautiful place on earth. Immigration package paid, everything. I own a sht ton of guns, only issue. I will fly for that if I do it. Not really expecting America to be hospitable to certain types of people over the next 100 years, wanna give me grandkids a shot somewhere.
She was 20. An adult. EARNED her wings before even having a driver's license. She was the CO-pilot still learning. That's how they learn; the log hours under experienced pilots. She did her job right until the end.The kid (yes, kid) flying the plane, or at least 2nd seat, graduated HS in 2023 or 2024. Nathalia Filguerias (sp?). Looked to be really trying to become Insta-famous.
Was that the cargo plane that was caught on dash cam that just fell out of the sky? If so, I'll never forget that one. Awful. I'm sorry man.My stepbrother's plane went down like that. They dropped about 15,000 feet in 90 seconds or so, out of Kandahar and spiraled in. Nothing left. They were trying to climb out of some weather and stalled.
Yep. That kind of dive in that kind of plane and even pulling out of it is dangerous. It's not an F-15. Even if they could've pulled out if it (they couldn't), at that velocity- that air frame would've snapped in half. She was one of two and not the captain.
