Lots of leagues have a lot of jerks.

Just look at WRs in the NFL, although that has gotten a bit better in recent years. The NBA has had plenty over the years. Heck, baseball had Ty Cobb over 100 years ago and has had many other ones as well throughout history.

The difference is that most of the jerks in those leagues were also elite-level players, so they could get away with it. In the WNBA, the best of the best players are generally the ones that aren’t the jerks. Wilson, Collier, Stewart, Clark, Mitchell, and Bueckers are all ones I wouldn’t call insufferable. It really picks up in that next level down of players.

Bonner already had two rings from her time with Phoenix earlier in her career. I think most people are just happy that the person that has forced her way out of teams mid-season the past two years doesn't win another one this year.

Yep. And the Valkyries hitting her back has been kind of delicious.





This is the stuff that makes her such an unlikeable player IMO. There's nothing wrong with playing with emotion, pumping up the crowd, etc., but the way she does it getting right into her opponent's face with this gesture, which she's been doing for the past few years now when she makes a big play, is embarrassing. And then when she gets it thrown back in her face she just lowers her head and walks away like an idiot.
