We don’t even put people in motion!!! We are one of the simplest playbooks on the face of the Earth. I don’t know what the hell Al is talking about.
Al isnt nor has he ever been an athlete. He doesn’t know what the hell he is looking at.

It’s so simple, the quarterback can’t execute the plays! Where are the easy throws to the tight end? We had like one tight end pass all game. Where are the easy screens to the running backs and wide receivers? Surace is struggling badly and needs the confidence building easy throws so that he can make the more difficult throws later. We need to get the quarterback in rhythm because his completion percentage is atrocious. Not to mention that the WRs are dropping catchable balls, especially one in the end zone.

None of the things you describe are easy or difficult.
Kirk runs one of the most simplistic systems in all of football. He doesn’t even trust the qb’s to make a true RPO read. All of the reads are called from the box and are predetermined run/pass/keep.

Throwing a simple screen to the RB is a lot easier than throwing to Raymond, out of the backfield, with the LB draped all over him.

Thankfully, Raymond made an incredible play.
Where Is the slant to the slot? Why did the tight end only see one pass all game? Why aren’t we using the middle of the field, like Michigan did?
From my vantage point, we are not making it easy for the quarterback to succeed, and that’s why he’s only completing 3 passes.

Very different to make the “play call” easy. Than having an easy offense.
Agreed. Kirk could have been more accommodating with his playcalling to have a green qb settle into the speed of game. But that is not what was being discussed. Kirks offense is not complex. Shouldn’t have to be dumbed down for anyone. It’s already dumbed down.

The QB YOU said would lead us to The Rose Bowl? Plays called by OC YOU have praised from Day 1? Hired by HC whose dick YOU suck on a daily basis? The WR room YOU have done nothing but heap praise upon all seaso long?

Do YOU not see how much you spin your own narratives? Seek help, Al, immediately.

The kid is clearly struggling and they need to adjust the play calling to better play to his strengths. Part of it is Michigan has tremendous athletes on their line and in their secondary, which is why they are tough to pass on. I hope we do better against Wisconsin, who doesn’t have the same caliber of athlete.

The QB and WR room had a bad day. Part of it is Michigan has tremendous athletes on their defense. We just have to get better.

But that has nothing to do with us having a complex offense. What you describe is a testament to bad evaluation, development, coaching and general readiness. Which all comes down to coaching.

Or is it because he is going through a learning curve. Sample size is small. Tom Savage is the only kid who “got it” right away. Ryan Hart, Mike Teel, Gary Nova took time. Savage was helped by having Anthony Davis at LT and Sanu and Tim Brown at WR, in ‘09. And Martinek running the ball as well as Sanu.

There is no offense on earth that should take multiple years to grasp. AJ has been in this system. One that is very basic for 3 years. The game has not slowed down for AJ and more than likely never will at this level.

And you mention many skill players that had nice careers at Rutgers. But the skill players that have been at RU the last couple of years and presently are on par or exceed the names you mention talent and skill wise.

It's no different than learning on the job, you get a little better at it each year. People are making it out to be more than it is. Some will grasp it quicker than others.

AJ played more freely in the first half because he wasn't overthinking things. We saw a scramble away from pressure to hit Houston on the long TD, and he threw a couple of balls away when he had no one open. The lightbulb was flickering on. In the 2nd half, he was back to thinking a lot because UM made adjustments and he struggled.

Did you notice any mechanical issues in his throwing? I certainly didn't and Al has shied away from answering that comment on both boards.

Yea agreed about learning on the job. But this offense is not something that takes 3 years to get a grasp or mastery of. It’s a very simple offense.

Nothing terribly mechanical. Other than he’s a statue. I think they tried to quiet his happy feet and he interpreted that to mean stand flat footed.

He should be much further along considering this is year 3 with Kirk and he was Athan's understudy and could pick his brain for two years.

This is the dumbest thread ever. The GW team was better because the defense was good. Not because of better QB play. We went from an above average D to a laughing stock D - that was the difference, dope.

. An example would be when NJ dot com used to have a message board that was fairly high frequented but eventually eroded and became total trolling and garbage. I don't think it even exists anymore
I remember it well and remember their resident troll Forum Titan. True story: when looking up Forum Titans account information, the email on the account was a Star Liar email!!! When called out on the forums, the email link was removed. Troll was provided for arguments and return visits to dispute and therefore generate more clicks to the site. Sound familiar ?!?

Duff slant
Duff go route
Delay handoff left
Delay handoff right
Useless tush push

What did I miss ?
Ummm...while not the in the offensive playbook, the fair catch has been very popular and might be our most productive play in gaining yards from the point of the catch.

At least the other ones relate to a current subject matter. To resurrect a topic from many years ago where he was, in fact, dead wrong in his prediction of Gavin being Heisman level - with the outcome being that Gavin wasn’t even good enough to hold down QB1 at Jax State - and start a new thread doubling down on it. Again, years later. This one probably wins the grand prize in stupidity.

@rutgersal_rivals139582 just had to get his Schiano-hate out.
It's understandable.
Near everyone feels like Schiano has screwed up the team and missed opportunities for the team to turn the corner.

Al feels Schiano made a horrific decision and basically threw away multiple seasons.
He just had to get it out.

The Michigan game plan was not predicated on a high completion rate. There was NEVER going to an opportunity for Surace or any QB to ‘get into rhythm’ in that game and thus a unique offensive game plan. Your view in what happens out there is so basic.
