After yesterday's game anything short of a national championship will be a huge facking disappointment and the entire staff should be fired.^This.
Did Minnesota not happen just last week?
Iowa is capable of beating anyone in the Big Ten, but they are also capable of losing to anyone in the Big Ten. The good news is the Minnesota loss is a little more palatable in that Minny isn’t a chump team this year and Iowa had to f#ck up royally time and time again (including your f#cking DB lining up offsides on 4th and goal) just for the Rodents to squeak out a win.
Iowa needs to win out, which includes going on the road and beating a decent NW squad. Iowa has all the tools now to finish 10-2 and make a CFP appearance. One game at a time. No excuses. No “we gotta clean a few things up” in November. The turd game is out of the way. The stakes are too high. Just. Win. Baby.
Btw, who would have thought that going into November Ohio State and Iowa would have the same record? Wisconsin. USC. Indiana. Minnesota. Iowa. Ohio State. Any given Saturday. Highs and lows from one week to the next. Just. Win. Baby.
That is hilarious.AND HERE’s THE BIG ONE…
Jimmy Rogers at Iowa State got his first win against a Top 25 team in his first season. Matt Rhule has ZERO in 4 seasons at Nebraska. Ouch.
Masquerading fake as real is dishonest.Sellout streak = stupidity
And then Frosty must have thought he was coaching at Nebby again as he got smacked 41-9 last night by Baylor.I mean Scott Frost was a great quarterback at Nebraska and he coached at Nebraska for a long time. And his team just beat BYU when they were #2 in the country. That’s got to count for something.
Is four years and change a long time?I mean Scott Frost was a great quarterback at Nebraska and he coached at Nebraska for a long time. And his team just beat BYU when they were #2 in the country. That’s got to count for something.
WR Barney was disco dancing like he won the lottery after his long catch that got the ball to the 5 yard line.Agreed. They get way too hyped over big plays early in the game. Calm the f down until you seal the game. How many chokes will it take to understand this lesson?
WR Barney was disco dancing like he won the lottery after his long catch that got the ball to the 5 yard line.
1st & goal: 5y penalty, delay of game LOL
1st & goal: Incomplete pass to Barney
2nd & goal: Incomplete pass to Barney
3rd & goal: QB sack
4th & goal: Missed FG
Perfect sequence to illustrate Husker football.
Another verification that God does have a razor sharp sense of humor.Actually it was Shawn Eichorst who fired Bob Pelini and what is hilarious, is that he is now the AD at Wisconsin. I wish an Iowa media corespondent would ask him after Iowa’s Win if Wisconsin 'is good enough in the games that mattered against championship-quality caliber opponents'. LMAO!
This graphic is quite a bit off (AI prolly), but Iowa had 4 soul-crushing last minute losses last year, but did win 3 one-score games (PSU,MSU, Vandy), but we certainly didn't win 7 one-score games last year.Asked Co-Pilot about losses in one score losses in the last ten years,
Using the season-by-season one-score records from CFBTrack, Nebraska's record in games decided by 8 points or fewer from 2017 through 2026 is: [cfbtrack.com]
Season Record 2017 2-3 2018 1-5 2019 2-4 2020 2-3 2021 0-8 2022 2-5 2023 1-5 2024 2-5 2025 4-2 2026* 0-2 Total 16-42
So over the last 10 seasons (2017-2026), Nebraska is 16-42 in one-score games, a winning percentage of 27.6%. [cfbtrack.com]
A few striking points:
For perspective, a roughly average team would be expected to be close to .500 in one-score games over a decade. Nebraska's 16-42 mark is one of the reasons their record over the last decade has been so much worse than many of their statistical profiles suggested.
- Nebraska went 0-8 in one-score games in 2021. [cfbtrack.com]
- From 2021 through 2024, Nebraska was just 5-23 in one-score games. Adding the yearly records (0-8, 2-5, 1-5, 2-5) yields that result. [cfbtrack.com]
- The best recent season in close games was 2025, when the Huskers went 4-2. [cfbtrack.com]
What is Kirk Ferentz record in one score games in the last decade?
I found a source that tracks one-score records (games decided by 8 points or fewer) by season. For the last 10 seasons (2017-2026), Kirk Ferentz's Iowa Hawkeyes have been approximately:
Total: 43-22 (.662)
Season One-Score Record 2017 4-2 2018 4-1 2019 4-1 2020 2-1 2021 4-3 2022 5-3 2023 8-2 2024 2-3 2025 7-4 2026* 3-2
(*2026 through games completed as of the current season.) These figures are derived from the season results and one-score-game tracking databases.jhowell+1
That compares very favorably with Nebraska's 16-42 (.276) mark in one-score games over the same decade.cfbtrack
So the gap is roughly:
Over 65 one-score games, that difference amounts to roughly 27 more wins for Iowa than Nebraska would have produced at Nebraska's close-game rate. Based on your earlier question about fourth-quarter leads, this is one of the defining differences between the Ferentz and Nebraska programs of the last decade. Iowa has consistently found ways to finish close games, while Nebraska has consistently found ways to lose them.
- Iowa: 66% winning percentage in one-score games.jhowell+1
- Nebraska: 28% winning percentage in one-score games.cfbtrack
His first mistake was using silicon valley to do his thinking for him. This graphic is quite a bit off (AI prolly), but Iowa had 4 soul-crushing last minute losses last year, but did win 3 one-score games (PSU,MSU, Vandy), but we certainly didn't win 7 one-score games last year.
Rhule is such a fraud. Parlayed his 19’ season at Baylor where he beat zero ranked teams into a huge contract with the panthers with a hefty buyout when fired and the joke of the contract nebby gave him plus extension last year after thinking psu would be interested in him. All for a guy who is 2-26 vs ranked teams with both wins coming at temple. 0-21 at Baylor & Nebraska.A few things…
The broadcast wouldn’t show it, but after Washington’s pick 6 to go up 17-7, Nebraska fans started throwing things on the field. So much so the broadcasters commented on it but wouldn’t show it, and play was stopped for a minute or so.
Nebraska had the onside kick there for the taking at the end. Ball was touched by Washington and rolled around another few seconds before anyone went for it. Two Nebraska players were right there.
AND HERE’s THE BIG ONE…
Jimmy Rogers at Iowa State got his first win against a Top 25 team in his first season. Matt Rhule has ZERO in 4 seasons at Nebraska. Ouch.
Don't forget about the block in the back by Gilmer right before this sequence....Ruhle was complaining that it was a 'clean' block! LolWR Barney was disco dancing like he won the lottery after his long catch that got the ball to the 5 yard line.
1st & goal: 5y penalty, delay of game LOL

I truly believe the crypt keeper tom osbourne sold his soul and Nebraska football success in 80s and 90s for the disaster they have become in the 21st century.I think this is further evidence a deal with Satan was made in the 90s. The time has come to reap the harvest.
Still laughing about Barney's 'Frankenstein' celebration and then the subsequent delay of game in which the crowd boo'd and Rule cried about it....You can't make this up!WR Barney was disco dancing like he won the lottery after his long catch that got the ball to the 5 yard line.

They have always been cocky ….at least since joining the B10 ……pre-game jumping on the tigerhawk field logo ….refusing to shake hands at the coin toss, etc.Still laughing about Barney's 'Frankenstein' celebration and then the subsequent delay of game in which the crowd boo'd and Rule cried about it....You can't make this up!

What's funnier is that Barney JR then had a couple drops on 1st and 2nd goal. Granted, they weren't the easiest of catches...WR Barney was disco dancing like he won the lottery after his long catch that got the ball to the 5 yard line.
1st & goal: 5y penalty, delay of game LOL
1st & goal: Incomplete pass to Barney

Watching Debbie collapse against a reeling Udub football team was definitely the crown jewel. I am currently watching the 4th quarter replay on Fox One and it's even more enjoyable already knowing the outcome...there is nothing more glorious on this night than seeing tOSU go down, Minny choke, and Nebby fall apart on the last two minutes of a game they controlled. Life is good tonight
The only thing I could think of that he was arguing that it was a block in the back and not a personal foul. That was the only thing that made sense.Don't forget about the block in the back by Gilmer right before this sequence....Ruhle was complaining that it was a 'clean' block! Lol

I wonder if they have a 30 day give back or lemon law on those contracts. May want to consider those in the future.Kudos to the agent for Husker QB Anthony Colandria for securing a generous multimillion ($5M?) dollar contract for the 2027 Nebraska season just a couple of days before going 24/44 with 3 INTs including a Pic6 to seal the loss at home vs Washington.
It must have been his combined 1 TD / 2 INT 56% passing performance in losses to Indiana and Oregon the prior two games that compelled the AD to lock him up this week, at mid-season, before a title contender plucks him out of Lincoln.
This graphic is quite a bit off (AI prolly), but Iowa had 4 soul-crushing last minute losses last year, but did win 3 one-score games (PSU,MSU, Vandy), but we certainly didn't win 7 one-score games last year.
Well, your right. Another example of the mistakes made by AI.His first mistake was using silicon valley to do his thinking for him.
It's a close call, but I take more pleasure in watching the village idiots at Lincoln with pitchforks in hand every harvest season (like clockwork).I don't know what's been more fun. Watching the Nebby meltdown or the one on all the Badger podcasts......
There's a reason they call it "sellout streak" and not "max capacity streak"Masquerading fake as real is dishonest.
He should have randomly hammered down some Runzas and that would have been perfectCan Nebraska ever get their coach some proper sideline apparel? Rolling around in a t-shirt like he just came out of a Walmart in Grand Island.
Could have been better if isu had lost, but all was made right when the Sunday cowboys (and jerry jones) lost. The expression on his face was priceless (as what lip readers saw him say).there is nothing more glorious on this night than seeing tOSU go down, Minny choke, and Nebby fall apart on the last two minutes of a game they controlled. Life is good tonight
We have! Just count the ways it has happened to the Cornshuckers.Play like yall have won before.
They could always go back to their previous name…….Bugeaters.Here is some friendly advice to our neighbors from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln; stop wearing the colors of your biggest rival. It makes you look like Iowa State.
I know wearing black is cool, especially on Halloween, but you should have thought of that in the 1890s. Hey, red is kinda cool too, I guess. Be happy with what you’ve got.
