BA down 10% on earnings. Didn’t see too much talk on it

Im in it. It has sucked. Might add here though for one last gasp.

It looked like BA was going to rip a few times, but it was always short-lived. In other news, lots of folks impressed with ANT's S1. Amazing growth and a much more diverse client list than expected.

My biggest takeaway from their S1 was buy more SpaceX

NOW with mixed results, getting crushed.

I'm getting beat up pretty good in extended.

Yikes! Forgot about NOW. I'm holding leaps (that were about 100% up.....until the morning). LOL.

In other news, is FTNT a buy the dip candidate? This Q doesn't seem that bad:
— The cybersecurity company plummeted 25%. Non-GAAP gross margin for the third quarter came in at 79.6%, while analysts polled by LSEG sought 80.1%. Separately, top- and bottom-line results beat the Street’s expectations.

Only cybersecurity I’m in is Cloudflare and been DCA’ing but slowing down my buys because the entire space is becoming highly competitive and I suspect hyperscalers or frontier models are going to start encroaching. But then again I’ve been saying this for months and blew it with SAIL and RUBR, and missed the run in Commvault.

Very happy that I trimmed Google in the summer. I wanted to sell all my mega caps but didn’t want the tax bill. My advisor looked into a ETF swap but they didn’t need my Apple, AMZN, or Google to recreate the SPY.

I trimmed Google as well but still hold a decent size position for the exact same reason = my tax bill from this year is going to piss me off although I plan to dump some losers sooner than later.

Yeah I’m not diving in yet but will buy little by little. 6-8 weeks ago trimmed to raise a lot of cash in trading account. Today was not good for me but could have been way worse. I actually had a lot of green but not enough to offset the red.

Glad I sold entire RDDT position back in June even after missing a lot of upside. RDDT could be totally F’d. Search traffic spigot slowing. Now moving to log-in model which is a terrible move and screams desperation.

Any fixed income? I bought a bunch of municipal bonds at 5-5.25%. All of the are now below 5% again. Corporate bonds are offering high yields but not sure if it’s cheap or they are just junk.

No fixed income for me (yet) mainly because I’m think I’m too young to divert money from stocks and I also have a corporate pension and wife a public pension. But I probably need to evaluate closer.

If you have two household pensions, you would be dumb AF to go fixed income with your investments. If you want to take risk off the table, just increase your allocation to VTI and VXUS and chill. :)

Wow, you are one of the lucky ones. I have to explain what a pension is to the younger staff. It’s like a unicorn these days.

I assume the idea with rddt and the log in is to not allow AI to just walk in and use their info?

Absolutely plus targeting ad opportunities. IMO most of the content on RDDT is knuckleheads that post with an agenda or post out of boredom. Very few legit sources are going on RDDT to enlighten the world. Would not surprise me if RDDT under $50 soon and could eventually end up like Ask.com

I don’t think RDDT has really figured out how to monetize activity that well yet. Not nearly as bad as SNAP, but nowhere close to META.

AI generated content is also burying RDDT not to mention the search slowdown. Even with the massive drop could still be a good short play. I guess we’ll see

Ed Zitron with Jon Stewart

I don't think it an accident that the tech corps are confessing losses week before election - and same for Zitron (honest guy) with Stewart . But Zitron is impressive because gets most of the tech side with the financial razzmatazz. Stewart isn't shy to ask noob questions. I'm sick of constant psyop in media. They did same with EVs by pushing people into them before grid could even handle them,

2:56 for start

Creepy Sam Altman thinks its a crime regulars people use computer memory instead of sacrificing for rigged tech's wet dreams

Zitron is insane. He literally claims that AI itself has no positive value for business or society. LOL! He’s just trying to be Burry 2.0 at all cost.

Im not even sure he needs to be right. He’s gained decent notoriety by just being confidently ultra negative.

probably has done quite well for himself already in terms of $$$.

To be fair, we won’t know who is right for a while. It’s pump and dump vs dump and cover.

+1
He's just trying to build a brand and make money via eyeballs (which is common in the social media age).

Aight time to get to work. Clean up this mess.

Im up 1% early.
Buy SSO or UPRO tomorrow? Or calls! :)

-----

00% of the time 💯

Since 1942, buying $SPX on Midterm-Election Day (MTE) generated a median return of +15.2% through June 30 of the following year (7 months forward).

Never, not once, ever was there a negative return in the forward 7-month period.

World War II, Vietnam War, 1970s lost decade, Dotcom Bubble, GFC, all macro-time periods included.

This is where the “stock market loves gridlock” saying comes from…
Market is already bubbly though.
Amazing that W Bush maladministration didn’t even break the trend.🤷‍♂️

The market is bubbly now? Ton of AI stocks are down significantly. Fwd eps of the S&P is very reasonable.

Because Ant and OpenAI will be king and queen of AI forever with exponential growth forever!
I’m half kidding. But extrapolating beyond points of relative certainty is nothing more than speculative financial modeling. All models are wrong but some are useful.
