Game Thread: No. 20 Northwestern at Oregon

[ajr938]

I cannot believe how bad our defense is today. We are making Raiola look like Peyton Manning in the Citrus Bowl.

[Deeringfish]

NO pressure on the QB

[loyolacat]

our 3rd string safety bit.....and left 7 all alone/

[NU Houston]

Really missing Fitz and Jon Jon. The third string safety (#0) was totally out of position on the TD pass. Oh well.

Too many injuries on defense, and neither line is playing well.

[AdamOnFirst]

Protection has been really good but is starting to fail

No idea what he was doing on that play. We really need Fitz back next week.

He’s not really ready to play at all

[Deeringfish]

Chip needs to call a weird play

[AdamOnFirst]

Don’t forget that his name is Aidan Chiles

[bringbacktherantboard]

Chiles is making some clutch plays of his own.

[jensberg]

Not having the three F's on defense is a huge impact on our team and it's not clear when they'll be back

[989bjm989]

Man that guys keeps so many plays and series alive.

[loyolacat]

are our other receivers that poor? what happened to the kid from Stanford

[jensberg]

Well at least we looked like a top 20 team in the first quarter

[989bjm989]

They have really shut down our run game.

[bringbacktherantboard]

If Chip has been saving "the play," this is the down to use it.

[Deeringfish]

NU has used the TEs less than I thought

[bringbacktherantboard]

MOVE! THOSE! CHAINS!

[bringbacktherantboard]

I'd kick the FG here...

[bringbacktherantboard]

Damn...

[989bjm989]

Sheesh.

[NU Houston]

Losing Jon Jon today was a big turning point in the game. Very unfortunate. At least he was able to stand up and walk to the cart. I assume it's a concussion.

[BFDCat]

Defense is pathetic.

[ParisCat_rivals]

McGarigle is not a playoff caliber DC.

[989bjm989]

Okay can we defend a throw

[Hungry Jack]

No Fussel. No RFitz. No JonJon.

[jensberg]

Chiles missed 84 wide open across the middle of the field. There was another one earlier in the game where he missed wilde wide open like that as well both of those would have been touchdowns. As great as he is he's human.

[Enduro]

He was terrible when he was in and Adeyi has been as bad as any player I’ve ever seen so that really that made no difference at all

[jensberg]

Maybe we can buy a defensive coordinator is good as chip for next year

[AdamOnFirst]

McGarigle is not a playoff caliber DC.

Oh yeah, he didn’t call the “make sure to cover your guy downfield” play

[Deeringfish]

McGarigle is not a playoff caliber DC.

OH please. Have you beenaround for more than aday?

[989bjm989]

Well, O gets another chance…

[NU Houston]

No Fussel. No RFitz. No JonJon.

Injuries happen, but we just don't have the depth at this point.

[989bjm989]

Minnesota still up on IU with 5:34 in the 4th…

yep been sacked and hurried more today than any other day this year....I think it has sped him up

[kaTNap]

No Fussel. No RFitz. No JonJon.

Beating a dead horse: we need more good players ... lack of depth, especially in the secondary, is what's killing us.

[lurkercat]

Credit to Kilbane for giving us a chance.

I think the pass rush is getting in his head now, and he's not seeing the open receivers.

[989bjm989]

Komo taking too long in the backfield to find the hole…or there’s just no hole.
