Two turnovers and a defense on the field the entire quarter will get you beat. Accountability has to be on players too. Too many blaming coaches and defense. Yea there were things on defense that didn’t help but what about the offensive mistakes? What about the dumb 15 yard penalties? I rarely ever read a word about players. It’s always the coaches. Nobody wants to hold the players accountable when they screw up. Learn and move on or get ready for Basketball.

That prevent defense killed us. Not taking ANYTHING AT ALL away from Shelby. But through the first 3 quarters Burns defense was pressuring Shelby offense and QB all night very successfully then we backed off up 21 and it changed the game. Plus credit Shelby they also figured out that power run out of the wildcat and we couldn't stop it, which also almost cost us against Cramer.

This game still stings pretty bad because Burns had this one. But thankfully, even if we'd won, it wouldn't have changed our seed. So at least, thankfully, the crushing loss didn't hurt us as far as playoff purposes go, we would have gotten the 4 seed either way. So at least, assuming we win round 2, we still get that extra home game in round 3

To a devoted follower losses really hurt. I’m still down from the beating Burns gave us and our other losses, too…But not to worry! Relief is just a post away. Enter The Chopper!

He reminds me of the feller in the Allstate Insurance commercials, Mr. Mayhem. I don’t believe there’s any way he could not have had input. I wonder sometimes if he’s not the main character.

you saying he's trigger happy?
Nope I'm just saying he's...... Interesting.... Last night was pretty evenly called both ways but Burns did get two roughing the passer calls that were absolutely crap.... Shelby was also called for a crazy holding call late that took away a TD. Then he also missed a VERY CLEAR hold that should have been called on Shelby.. But again, overall, last night was called fairly close.... He just seems like he likes to be the "spotlight" of games sometimes. He calls some pretty ticky-tacky stuff

He has ejected 2 Burns players this year. One which was probably warrented in the Lincolnton game, but one last night that should have just been a disqualification and not an ejection. I get it you can't get upset and slam your helmet to the ground, but that shouldn't cost you 2 games via ejection. Then he also gave Burns a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty late in the game at a really crucial time for what looked like to me a player simply taking off his helmet while running towards the sideline after a play. Again really ticky-tacky stuff.

It takes 4 quarters to win against a good team, Burns only played three. I do think Shelby had something to do with the fact they did not have a good 4th quarter.

Oh yeah absolutely, not saying that at all. No question. Burns played to not lose in the 4th and Shelby played to win.

What about that clear hold on yalls passing TD in 2nd overtime ... 51 was all had a left hand of defender holding as your QB rolled left.. Here it is right here below...

Very well may have happened, in real time I honestly didn't see it, I was focused on who we had open as an option in the end zone at that moment. Again I'll say the game was fairly evenly called but there were also bad & missed calls going both ways that could have changed the game. In either direction.

To start with the refs, especially the white hat seem to look for a reason to throw a flag every play. The roughing the passer calls IMO were crap. The hold you say wasn’t there on the long touchdown to #10 is actually a hold. Look at about 50:50 left in the game. Hold was in the open right up the middle.
All that being said, the white hat needs to find a middle ground on making calls.

Players were tired but the defense play calls were terrible. You can’t continue to blitz and leave the middle wide open. They ran the same couple of plays and Burns coaches never adjusted. Put your players in a better position to make a play. Not 100% on the coaches but most of it was.
Play calling in the 4th wasn’t t good either. Your QB shouldn’t lead your team in carries when you have the backs Burns has. I think 0 and 10 maybe had 10 total carries. Don’t understand that one bit.
You don’t throw the ball in the 4th in a tie game with under a minute on 3rd down. Hand it off and if you don’t get it, make them use timeouts. QB doesn’t throw it well and doesn’t make the best decisions. Again, put your players in the best position. Burns coaching didn’t do that in the 4th. Game and moment got too big. Hopefully they can learn from that and make a run.
