Well, Billy G was the coach here at the time so I don’t blame him.

he came here as an assistant, and apparently was trying to innovate things under Cal. But, Cal was so stuck in his ways he didn’t let him do anything. So he left….once again don’t really blame him.

Pearl would have already put up banner #9 by now. Ignorant fans will never realize his worth.

I honestly wouldn’t have had a problem with Pearl, hell I would have taken Pitino. Now Scott Drew is not someone that I wanted. I didn’t have a problem with Popes first team but last years team sucked and the players weren’t likable either. Too many guys only out for theirselfs, OO, DA, MD, BG, JJ and his uncle. Did I miss anyone?

I was getting tired of the 1 and dones. Here for a few months then gone. I like that some players are actually for 2 or 3 years. Weren't we getting beat by teams with veterans in the tourney under Cal? Wasn't anyone else tired of that? I'm good with the 4 star players who will stick around for a few years. The ones just under the NBA radar who can play and help us win. The team can be better than the sum of the individuals. Pope needs to coach them up. It's possible. Stein is doing it for football without the 5 star guys. Time for Pope to step up too.

The objective was to replace a coach who was a really good recruiter , but couldn't coach with a coach who might not be as great of a recruiter, but could coach. Barnhart managed to hire one who isn't good at either.
This isn't a Cal vs Pope issue. They both suck at their jobs. Just in different ways.

I don’t get why it’s so hard for some people. They keep working the same damned equation with Pope and Cal. It’s either or! Why? Why does it only have to be either Cal or Pope? Why can’t it be another coach? How ******* intellectually limited are some of these people?

I believe that’s why we are stuck with Pope is the money is going to football and I hate that. Kentucky will always be known for basketball and football will have good seasons every now and then but keeping the coach from being poached will be tough
