I’ve been getting them for about every single state. If anything can be done to dial these dumb ads back then we need to do it. It’s literally 90% of ads I’m seeing on YT or D+.

Has anyone ever decided who to vote for by watching a commercial? By seeing a yard sign or billboard?
No but I've decided who not to vote for by watching some commercials. I don't remember the name of the third guy in the Cochran/McDaniel goof-off in the spring of 2014 but the soundtrack of my younger child's birth was TV ads from both of those idiots, and the third guy got my vote.

All political adds and donations should be banned . If you want to run for office, get out and talk to the people and use your on money
I am on board with your view that there are way too many ads and donation requests, and that how donations are handled is terrible.
I strongly disagree that the system should instead require people to only use their own money to run for office. That will create a massive and obvious issue of only wealthy people running and legislating, which will result in a lot of the same complaints many people have now when it comes to state and federal legislators.

An Amendment to the Constitution needs to be made to improve things-
- Paid political advertisement in all forms will only be allowed if it paid for by the candidate. This includes radio, internet, print, TV, streaming, banners, signs, etc. Make it illegal for anyone other than the candidate to pay for promotional opportunities.
This would effectively end Super PAC advertisements.

- Cap donations(individual or company) to Super PACs at $5000 total per year.
This would effectively reduce the influence Super PACs have on polling, research, consulting, and legal services.

- Elections last 2 months from the file date. Thats it. Candidates dont exist before then, so they cant advertise before then.
This would reduce the exhaustion experienced by voters each election cycle.

Those dependent on all the advertising revenue would hate these changes. All the political consultants and strategists would hate it too.
17 them though. Their selfish disapproval shouldnt hold any more weight when it comes to what is healthiest for the democratic process and the well being of Americans.

YouTube Premium Lite is a beautiful thing. $7.99/mo and no ads on videos, just music. $12.99 and none on music videos or concerts

I get several political texts each day, increasing as next Tuesday nears. Political ads should be considered spam, but it's the politicians themselves who decide what to consider spam and what is acceptable. We know what their decisions always are. Replying "Stop" or classifying the text as "Spam" does no good - they just use a different number next time.
