Someone came in with a bigger bag. That is SEC Country. We need to raise our offer if we want to keep him.He had an offer from Georgia which is like DL Central. Everybody wants hard-to-find OL/DL and the idea you just go by one is the same idea everybody has. As a B1G team in the northeast RU should be more attractive than it is. That's why RU needs a change. GS regime is more lemon than juice.
LmaoWhen is Schiano going to decommit from Rutgers football?
Actually, the Rutgers football program has been way more lemon than juice since Dick Anderson and the move to The Big Time. Schiano has by far been the best at recruiting here, and that's mostly because the rest of the RU head coaches since Anderson have been awful at it. Although RU plays in a state with a good amount of quality high school football prospects, it's success at keeping them at home and playing for the state university has been pathetic. New Jersey kids for the most part don't wanna stay home. And the truly elite prospects nationwide would rather play for Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, or even USC over Rutgers. He had an offer from Georgia which is like DL Central. Based on results and lack of preparedness it looks like he already has. When is Schiano going to decommit from Rutgers football?

It's easy to see why that is so. And how difficult that is to overcome.
GS1 might have been the only chance RU ever had at overcoming that.

Not what Dennis said. Said it was uncertainty of program and staff.Someone came in with a bigger bag. That is SEC Country. We need to raise our offer if we want to keep him.
When he retires 10 years from nowWhen is Schiano going to decommit from Rutgers football?
Hopefully Keli is working on candidates as we speak. When is Schiano going to decommit from Rutgers football?
Time to up the ante RutgersAl screen name #1. You have the ability to help keep him.Someone came in with a bigger bag. That is SEC Country. We need to raise our offer if we want to keep him.

But I guess he lied to this site.
He was a very good recruiter. When Schiano brought in Jeff Hafley as an assistant during 1.0 there was a real chance for Rutgers to reach the next level. For a short time, they kept more real local prospects (including Eastern Pa.) than has happened before or since. But he went to the NFL and took Hafley with him. He's now the HC of the Dolphins.
WR and RBs are the easiest position to recruit. They are everywhereGS recruiting has been lopsided. WRs and RBs fall from the sky with GS in charge. OL in particular though has been slack. OL "is the straw that stirs the drink" as Reggie Jackson would say. Greg had some good OL players in BE but rarely enough. In the B1G, recruiting has been weak at a time when its was needed more. Nobody can do well in the B1G without great OL/DL talent - the B1G is BIG and known for stud lineman. I watch OL in UMass game and it was like a circus clown car with guys running around lost and enfeebled.
Of course QB has been another problem. After Freshman AA Tom Savage's implosion (caused in part by bad OL) its been a hard position to feel confident about. I gave-up caring about NJ players after Saquon. Dude said RU was his dream and Rutgers couldn't get him. Think about that - Rutgers was the fav team of Saquon Barkley growing up. Fact is RU's best players (like Duff) have often been coming from NY. I'm sure SU cries about not keeping NY players.

Of course, per the NIL ManifestoSomeone came in with a bigger bag. That is SEC Country. We need to raise our offer if we want to keep him.
That is not true whatsoever. He didn't like the uncertainty with the staff and his first visit post decommitment was to Cincinnati, not the SEC.Someone came in with a bigger bag. That is SEC Country. We need to raise our offer if we want to keep him.
