With more NIL Support, Schiano will fix it

If the fanbase cared about winning, they would have provided the head coach with the tools to win, such as enough NIL support and a Fieldhouse. Even the Lawrence School in Lawrence NJ has a brand new Fieldhouse, thanks to a benefactor. So there is a NJ high school with better facilities than what we have . Do you realize how disgraceful that is?

You’re acting like we should have Alabama results on a Rutgers budget, which is 8 jokes in one. A better coach won’t come within 500 miles of this place because there isn’t enough support to be successful. Thanks for the laugh, though.
Every single loss that I listed was purely coaching related. Poor coaching, preparation, and decision making lost those games. Do YOU realize how disgraceful THAT is?

Comparing the “Lawrenceville” school. Not the “Lawrence” school is absolutely bizarre behavior. It’s an elite of the elite prep school that costs 100k/year. He can’t even get the simple things correct. Can’t expect more from someone that’s asks others to carry his water. Big 1 ticket and alleged parking pass guy!!

Our QB got injured. Once that happened, all bets were off.
The same QB YOU said was an inferior talent found in the bargain bin? Who wasn't "acclimated?" Who you described as chickensh#t that the coaches shouldn't be expected to turn into chicken salad? Whose replacement was the next Tom Brady?

Serious question - why should anyone trust your evaluation of Schiano's value?
Maybe it's you who doesn't know any better?

(Note - we brought in AK and Wimsatt transfered)

I've never seen someone so wrong, so consistently, over such a long period of time. Board idiot. Whatever he suggests, do the exact opposite.

Losing in the second half to Iowa is coaching related? How bout beating Maryland in the second half. Is that coaching related too?

You want perfection but don’t want to support it. Thats what this comes down to.

Maryland fired their coach. RU was one smaller shoe size away from blowing that game. They were toe to toe with Iowa in the first half. Until their coaches did what real coaches do. They adjusted. Iowa scored 17 points in the 4th quarter. RU had the bright idea of kicking off to a 2 time All B1G kick returner, who RETURNED THE KICK FOR A TD. These things are certainly coaching related. Not asking for perfection. I'm asking for some basic level of competence, which is the difference between being below .500 with a bunch of disgraceful WTF losses and above 500 with a respectable, even good, record.

Like you’re really supporting Rutgers. We already established months ago that it’s your one ticket with the required donation that is the primary extent of your giving. Yet you talk down to others.

You’re a weak Greta Thunberg.

Rutgers has had these types of losses forever. It’s not like these losses started with Schiano. Now you expect to win every winnable game, which is a joke. Just some years ago under Ash, we were getting smoked by the Iowas and Minnesota’s. It’s only because of Schiano have your expectations increased. Either get over it or get out.

Good coaches win the majority of winnable games. That's what makes them good coaches.

I've said the same thing about Pike.

Taking a scrap heap car and fixing it up into a usable everyday car - great job.
But then you drive that car into a pole and it's a scrap heap again?
You don't get to say "but remember when it was running fine?" and ignore the current situation.

You said "Schiano has rebuilt twice - he can do it again".
The two times he gets credit.

He doesn't get credit for rebuilding a program that he broke.

And for both Schiano (and Pike) its not even like they built a sports car (championships). They rebuilt into a good commuter Honda Accord before crashing it into a pole.

As usual, you haven’t established anything because you’re wrong. Take a lap.

Bro, you need to step back. You’re coming off like the biggest idiot on the face of the freaking planet. Every week it’s a different list of excuses. Every week it’s a different spin on your narrative. The worst part? You don’t eat your crow after we get slaughtered every Saturday. You should be embarrassed of yourself.

Why can’t you just accept the fact that Greg - most unfortunately - sucks as a head coach anymore? He just doesn’t have what it takes these days. Period.

Wait, they built a fieldhouse but can't raise enough money to play on their own football field for the last two years? Or build another home field with all that cash?? What a bunch of idiots!!!!

It gets even better AL. They build a field house to show they mean business, yet their record this year is 1-9. You are digging yourself into a deeper and deeper hole. It's your own Black (AL) Hole and you own it well.

You fell for one of Al’s biggest tricks. He doesnt post facts or actually get names, numbers or anything correct. It’s not Lawrence High school that built a field house. It’s Lawrenceville Prep. One of the most elite boarding schools in the country. The Forbes family, Michael Eisner, Joseph Tsai (who funded the field house) as well multiple other billionaire are alumni . It’s 100k+ to attend.

There’s a good reason why good coaches avoided Rutgers like the plague for most of our history. There isn’t enough support here to win. This goes back to 1869.

Rutgers has won 7 or more games 11 times in the last 40 years. Schiano was coach for 8 of those seasons. Schiano is the best coach Rutgers can get.

Good Coaches who coach for good programs win the majority of winnable games. Rutgers is just not equipped to win at the level you desire, because other Big Ten programs fans care more about winning than this programs fans. Maryland and Purdue are the only programs we can compete with, consistently. Other Big Ten programs are better capitalized.

Both Schiano and Pike did not get the support to maintain what they had built. Thats not their fault. Th it’s the fanbases fault. Thankfully basketball fans stepped up this year so we could put a competitive product out there. With additional NIL support, football should be able to do the same next year.

Wrong again. It was because we weren’t paying market rate or even close to it. Now we are. Loser Schiano is making nearly $7MM. NIL is mid level or close and school spend on support and operations is top tier. This job will have many high level coaches interested. It will be great when we get a real coach and get rid of the loser Schiano. Will you leave too?

You’re the one who needs to get his facts right. NIL spending is 14th out of 18 teams in the Big Ten. Operational spending is towards the top because it is taking more effort to recruit because capital spending and NIL spending is low. Unless you’re writing the buyout check, Schiano will be back next year. His salary is 13th in the Big Ten, which might change once Maryland hires their coach.

Since you're new, he's got tons of threads like those. One of my favorites was when he claimed Rutgers was an impact TE away from winning a national championship, then there was one preseason thread where he thought calling the OL aircraft carriers was a good thing not understanding they aren't very mobile and neither was our OL that year.
Im familiar with Al. Love the guy’s enthusiasm - though I’ve never met him.

I’m really not new though - I’ve just been away for about a decade since I left NJ. I used to run the Insiders/Scout site way back in the day with Big Dog and Mike Fasano. I think that site eventually became 247 but I haven’t kept up with all the changes.

And the difference in NIL spend between 14 and 10 in the conference isn't some huge amount. He wasted between $20-25 million this year and made the team worse. Greg, his GMs and portal staff are clueless.

I first pointed out that he screwed up the portal, before anyone else, and a lack of resources played into that. Meanwhile, Miami took whomever they wanted, because they had the capital to make it happen. With more capital, we will be able to land better players.

You just confirmed my facts. 18 through 8 are very similar in spending. Combine that with his bloated staff spending that is near the top and the fact he’s getting beat by everyone except the school who just fired their coach and he is exactly what it looks like he is. One big loser.

want to bet he gets canned?

That was the excuse for losing to BC and UMass? They weren't "equipped?" Blowing the Illinois game by icing the kicker? What did that have to do with being "equipped?" Sh$tting the bed against UCLA? What did being "equipped" have to do with that loss? Rutgers lost those games because they weren't "equipped" with a coach capable of winning those games.

Remarkable how much the same few posters repeat the same few diatribes each day. Those hoping for GS' demise and on the other side his continuation have made their points repeatedly...and again and again.

Appears now we are in the DAILY look for anything new to justify our points era---omg the press conference what was said by GS-- omg we dont have this or that facility.

The "on repeat" posters are more than tiresome.
This is to be expected when the football season is over before the first day of Fall. That leaves us 2-3 months of bickering

You don't even donate though. You count your season ticket/parking pass as a donation.

If there is a triangle with ARROGANT, WRONG, and CHEAP at the 3 corners, you cannot be all 3. You can get away with 2 max. And yet you are all 3. It makes your posts even more viscerally annoying

He wasn’t lacking resources when only a few million separate Rutgers from the midpoint of the league. You just continue to talk out of both sides of your mouth.

No one else is having such a horrendous season after their coach told every media outlet nonstop that they were much better, best roster, my 2nd string OL is better than the 2020 starters, etc.

It’s a non stop chit show.
