Mark pope days are numbered at Kentucky! Lucky if he makes it til march. If he’s smart he would resign! Wait til march then your fired!
Recruits know he won't be here next year. That's why I put my prediction in we never see Hampton in a UK jersey. He might stick with the new coach tho.

Pass on Lucas Need someone more established long term. Lucas is a good coach and seems to be able to get players just not sold on him at this point in his career.

And who is that? Please stop with Billy Donovan.

Who is the established coach that's coming over? UK just went through that exercise two years ago and UNC just went through it and landed on Malone. Can't think the UK job is any better than UNC.

Our TarHeels bud certainly doesn't seem to have his signals straight on this one. There is no way UNC is getting Henry and Rosser.

Cal now in an interesting spot. He's down to needing one of Black/Daughtry, which he'll likely get. Williams & Diggs aren't going his way, then have to wonder if he's getting Rosser too, or a reclass. Rosser remains the big mystery now.

Ironically it is literally the only crystal ball David Sisk has ever cast on 247sports.
I’m not surprised, he was literally using every other team to boost his value. He was always going to UNC. Seems like everyone knows that but our coach. I know he had to go see him and do his due diligence, but I wish he would actually target 3-4 players he really wants other than offer the whole top 25 and get used to raise prices. Class after class the same thing has happened. He was lucky two kids were from the state last year, although only one was an actual good player. That’s all he has pulled outside Hampton who sadly is falling fast in the rankings. Hopefully he turns out undervalued.

Apparently UNC nor Kentucky tried to get Oats due to his reputation. Who knows what Batt’s relationship with Oats is and whether or not he’d take the Kentucky job. I don’t personally buy it, but some fans do. But I agree if you can’t get an established coach, take Lucas or Shertz.

What exactly is the issue with Oats reputation? Anything he does is pittly winks compared to what LSU is doing.

Shared the list elsewhere of those established coaches that are worth approaching: McCasland, Otz, McCollum. I doubt guys like Lloyd, Golden leave.

Some of these coaches may be very selective waiting out some of these other big jobs that may open. A coach that's gone through a P5 clean could be a good option.

Bill Self is probably coaching his last season due to health concerns.I think Kansas first call will be to Golden at Florida and he will take it.
Golden's next stop is Golden State. Not sure what he's gaining at KU. CBS recently flagged UF in tier 1 of NIL, Kansas in tier 2. I honestly don't know why any coach would leave a P5 school if they're already in a winning situation unless they were getting substantially more NIL. A guy like Oats may be willing to walk from Bama to UK because he could effectively be doubling his NIL.

I think he has a similar reputation as Cal before he came to Kentucky where he took some less than savory players with off-the-court issues. I personally don’t care. But we know how sanctimonious Mitch Barnhart is. Or how holier than thou UNC is, despite getting away with murder.

I thought Kansas had a coach in-waiting on their staff? I remember some Kansas fans mentioning it somewhere. An assistant coach like Scheyer at Duke.

Golden sexually harassed and stalked students at UF. UF covered it up by paying off the girls, and opening a very limited Title IX investigation in which the paid off witnesses didn't testify.
He may have idk. I know it was looked into and I wouldn’t doubt that it happened but with no definitive proof it’s hard to hold that against him if he didn’t do it. Maybe if the supposed victims would grow a spine and hold him accountable instead of taking money this would stop.

Far from the first time Florida boosters paid to get their athletics out of a legal jam. In this instance, they successfully kept their shady coach during a NCAA Championship winning season. From what I read, the girls showed the administration the texts and illicit photos Golden sent them. Had the boosters not stepped in, dude would have been done coaching. Alas, the wealthy in our country don't play by the same rules and laws as the rest of us.

That’s exactly how I feel with Lucas. No thanks. He could just as easily end up being another Pope or Billy. One decent year at a power 4 school doesn’t get you a job here.

Jacque Vaughn. Former KU player and former NBA Coach.
Jacque joined the staff last year. He was an NBA assistant for a few years prior to that. We've all seen how going that route works - it's typically an implosion. Look not further than Kevin Ollie, Hubert Davis, etc. The list goes on. If I'm Kansas, I'm finding a proven HC. Anything short of that would be a discredit to their fanbase.

Scheyer was with K for 9 years as an assistant before taking the job, in the only situation I see hiring a player alumnus turned assistant working. And that was at the top brand in the sport that could attract players if you put a mannequin in the job.

If true, and it sounds like you know what you're talking about, he's not leaving for another college job where that will follow him around. He's only going to the NBA, where he can hide in the background.
