I'll always pull for the MSU guys and hope they do well, but I wouldn't say he improved his situation a whole lot except maybe in the clubhouse??

Bears are 76-85 last 10 seasons, and its Chicago. It ranks right up there w/ Jackson for crime, their winter winds coming off the lakes combined w/ snow is brutal, liberal democrats ruling the town w/ political corruption everywhere, some of the nations highest property and sales taxes. Nashville isn't Shangri-La but it beats the hell outta Chicago
I'm sure that he's more concerned with going from tax free state to a 5% tax.

Excerpt from ESPN article

The Bears needed more talent on defense, plain and simple -- that's how they can start winning on early downs and get to the schemed-up excellence of their third-down defense. Simmons is a true three-down defensive tackle with elite play against both the run and the pass. He has played more snaps (399) than any other defensive tackle in the league. He leads all defensive tackles in total pressures (and he's seventh in pressure rate to boot). He also leads all defensive tackles in run stop EPA (and he's 19th in run stop rate to boot). There is no individual defensive tackle with a higher total impact for his defense -- all three downs, run and pass -- than Simmons this season. And it's not close.
