Just saw the new(ish?) Pennsylvania license plates on a BMW 4-series convertible in NYC.

What a wonderful upgrade. The great people of Pennsylvania no longer have to ruin their driving experience with Pitt/UM colors adorning their vehicle.

I might have to move to PA for that PSU plate except that it doesn‘t state “PENN STATE ALUMNI A$$.” On the other hand, it does have the chipmunk.

Love the new design. Really good. California still my favorite overall but this is maybe second. Maine and Vermont have great plates too.

I like the design too, but the final product/execution is poor. The bell and "Let Freedom Ring" is super light on the plate and difficult to read unless right on top of it. Plus they didn't leave a gap at the bell so a number on top obscures it. And probably the worst blunder, in order to distinguish between the O and the zero, they put a slash through the zero and plate readers read the zero glyph as an eight. The parking garage I park in has a plate reader to raise the gate and it hasn't worked since I got my new plate. Problems on the Turnpike too.

I live in PA and I don’t like the new plates. The other person said the bell is light and you can’t see it well. I agree. I didn’t even notice the bell. And the colo don’t show up well. It looks more black and white.
When I first saw them I thought they looked like US Govt vehicle license plates.
