They don’t have football so all the rev share goes to basketball. Plus I’m sure they got a booster or 2 with money as do all schools.

He’s a stud. Also in on kamagate now with aboya. Still a ton of options out there. Not worried at all. He’s might the right hires for the new age recruiting. Mo has Nike ties and aboya has nba Africa ties and agent ties.

I think there is something to be said about a guy choosing Providence over UK or Baylor. It's like those two top 5 guys that went to Rutgers one year.
To be honest though, we aren't going to get a top 10 freshman given everyone on the current team, sans Kepnang, can return next year.

Then again people really just don't have the time or energy to care that much. Real life is going on. Im a die hard and I want UK to win every game.
But the reality is it doesn't change my life at all if we win every game or lose. Just a slight sense of pride if we are winning big I reckon. Boosters are the only ones who probably actually care since they put big money into this stuff. I guess they do. Im not really sure how it works. They say we dont have any big boosters like Cuban so who knows.

Rumored scuttlebutt was Providence was going to go all in on one Freshmen with a massive NIL deal from the money they saved on Dink Pate leaving. It was between Nasir and Uvwo. Add in that Providence doesn't have football so they get all that rev share to put into basketball and neither UK nor Baylor probably wanted to touch the absurd number Providence was able to throw out there. Not making excuses for Pope, or for Baylor. But the pot isn't bottomless. Some guys just aren't worth stupid money. Some are. I'd really like to see this staff lock in on one AND spend the money to land them instead of spreading out the money to chase a roster in the portal.

Getting high schoolers to commit is way down on the priority scale. Transfers are way more higher in priority when building a successful team. The successful teams of today are built with transfers.
Again, calipari was too far in one way, Pope is going way too far in the other. Sign the top players wherever they are. Promote them, NBA credibility is important for recruiting. Just don't make it hour entire damn brand. This isn't that hard but this board is a carbon copy of america 2026. Being extreme is the only answer to a lack of logic.
Winning formulas can happen in all aspects. Don't handcuff yourself in any area. In Marks case I guess his supporters have to bash younger recruits, he can't get them.

Why pay an unproven high schoolers? Spend your money on proven college transfers. That's how successful teams these days are built.
Still having 2-3 young NBA talents to pair with that would be a great mix for success like it always has been. Imagine signing top portal guys to go along with those talents. Duke hasn’t been hurting with Cooper Flagg and Kon Kunupple running the show with all that transfer talent helping them out. They are a half court 3 and a late game mistake away from 2 championship games in a row.

- when your portal players crap the bed....well we are focusing on the next HS which is better talent anyways
- whiff on that class which turns out to be not good and its back to portal players
- unless we can get 2028 guy to reclass....which was once sworn off because of how unproductive they were
Yes. I’m a Pope fan and want him and UK to do well. But I’m to the point that if he can’t win with this group, he probably won’t do better just based on history.
I hope he does extremely well and tacks on a couple good recruits before next year.
