Who else remembers Malik Newman missed his first game at MSU because of turf toe?

Yep. Not an athlete that you want to compare to the current QB situation.

He certainly didn’t live up to the hype.

He had a decent one year at MSU and a solid one year at KU (14/5/2). His highlight was dropping 32 on Duke to lead the Jayhawks to the FF.

One of the biggest mistakes NCAA made was doing away with the sitting out a year rule.

We lost to a SWAC team in Newman’s debut game if you want to know how that season went. I seem to remember that team actually got to be pretty good by the end of the year but they were such a disaster the first couple of months that it didn’t matter.
