With our size shouldn't get out rebounded. But it's only the first half of an exhibition.
But, unless Thompson and the kid from Washington are gonna ride the bench all year, shouldn't they be seeing some time in an exhib game to see if they are worth any playing time in the actual season??My guess - BM trying some combinations and experimenting cause exh game. Not reading too much into any of this, except I like the pace.
His offense isn't completely total trash either.I'll say this. Payton Mac is impressing me with his defense.
There is obviously work to do. And obviously time to do it. But based on that first half, McCallum will be earning his money. Can't believe all of the negative comments already......how soon we forget.
Really suprised regarding Trey. I figured he'd be big part of rotation
He may be sending a message. I read somewhere that Trey was struggling on the defensive end. Coach McM might be trying to get his attention. Not sure about Harris. But, unless Thompson and the kid from Washington are gonna ride the bench all year, shouldn't they be seeing some time in an exhib game to see if they are worth any playing time in the actual season??

He looks "deadeye" at the foul line too.His offense isn't completely total trash either.
(kinda got stuffed once, but his outside shot looks serviceable)
Which this team desperately needs, at least just going by this first half of the exhib game.He looks "deadeye" at the foul line too.![]()
Coop has two 3's. Not concerned with Sage, and did you notice that they didn't want to keep attacking the rim with Andrew in?I think we can all agree that wasn't a very impressive first half. Very premature but here are my thoughts...
A few bright spots that are a bit surprising... Peyton and Jirak. If Coleman can convert / improve his decision making; particularly around the rim and he'll be a major asset. He's quick, no doubt.
Combs looked really solid. I'm sure Koch and Sage will come around. Not a good match up for McKeever. Cam with a few bright spots.
Hope Ben has him shoot FT's all day long, even in his sleep and on the pot. (no footage please).Lil worried about possible hack-a-cam moments, but hopefully he improves his FT's somehow..
This.I know its just UIS and an exhib, but Payton McCollum has shown me something tonight.
Where's CMac when you need him?now that we apparently have the bigs, do we also have a guy that can make the quality entry pass? hope iowa standards in that aspect haven't regressed under this coaching staff

TC is a quick facilitator, but I need to see more to judge his scoring ability.I'm definitely on the buy side for Ty'reek Coleman.
Pretty impressed by Jirak too (and Peyton as others have mentioned).
MayCoon might be our new Tyler Cook.![]()
Mckeever wasn't billed as a scorer! He's a great rebounder and passer.First blush: no surprises. As advertised.
Thats ok.
Guys like cam, kael, are steady but same guys as last year...good.
Cooper and Tate look more confident out there...they shot well.
Coon is as expected, good dunker, shot will take more time.
Mckeever- he's ok but not a scorer ,just first impression, but that what he was billed as...
I do like Harris's handle...needs muscle.
Tyreek looked as good as I hoped...potentially.
I do like a practice game like this to get the jitters out in front of fans
Snap judgements are ill- advised.
That backdoor cut and dunk attempt for Coon was wild! LOL.
