Yeah, do we ever play a road exhibition game? Like all these teams come to UK and never get a return game? Purdue, Georgetown and now TX tech.

I'm just curious and before the Popettes freak out, not a criticism. Just curious why some big name teams play on road n exhibition and we havent.

It's more of a newer thing so I think some teams are just starting to do them more each year. It wasn't long ago when all of us stayed home and played junior colleges as exhibitions. We did just host #19 TTech, by the way...

As usual someone jumps on a comparison with no context. Without even considering injuries but just schedules, none stack up to Pope's avg. difficulty rating of 13.5. If you avg. UK's other 7 schedules rated 10.60 or better which average out to 11.44 Uk's winning percentage is 64% vs. Pope's 63.9%

Everyone has injuries... Cal had more than his share. The comparsion is how much each coach has contributed to Kentucky's All Time win record. The winning percentage is one way which clearly shows Cal contributed or you can go by total wins which Cal had 410 and Pope has 45. If we are looking for excuses...Cal had to deal with COVID with no fans in the stands. However, if Pope keeps these results, he might have to deal with his coach with no fans in the stands.

Introducing actual facts is not making excuses. The fact is he has performed right on UK's standard when playing schedules even near that degree of difficulty (no other UK coach has ever played a schedule rated as difficult as the two Pope has) as much as that pains you to hear.

You wants some facts? Pope has had the highest pay roll in Kentucky Basketball and he still sucks. He picked everyone of those players and he is responsible for the product on the court! He has no chance of surviving as Kentucky basketball coach. Prepare yourself for that!

Kentucky historical has won 75.7% rate, 2446 wins.
Cal won at 76.9% rate
Cal won 410 games which accounts for 16.7 % of all of Kentucky basketball wins.
Cal played the 4th toughest schedule in 2017-2018 finished 26-11, 4th SEC regular season, SEC tournament Champions, sweet 16 finished
Cal played 5th toughest schedule in 2018-2019 and finished 30-7, 2nd regular season SEC, SEC Tournament Semifinals, Elite Eight
Pope won at 63.9% rate
Pope won 46 games which accounts for 1.8% of UK's wins.
Pope 2024-2025 played 3rd toughest schedule finishing 24-12, 6th in SEC, SEC tournament Quarterfinalist, sweet 16
2025-2026 played 4th toughest schedule finished 22-14, 7th in SEC, Quaterfinal Tournament, and a banked in a buzzer beater from deep to advance to finish round 32 (worst UK NCAA loss in half a century)!
And I will not be whining with this year's results because I know what we have.

Meanwhile, some are still saying we had injuries, we have not had time to recruit our players, I will make my decision after a couple more years. And that is ok. That is your choice. So enjoy watching the embarrassing losses, the early NCAA tournament exits, 6th or 7th place finishes in the SEC, the free weekends of the SEC tournament and the history of Kentucky basketball not become IU which where we are, but become WKU. You do realize, WKU used to be considered one of the top 5 programs in college basketball. They were ranked 3rd in the first ever AP top 25 Basketball Poll and use to one of the top all time win schools.
