Right? Can you imagine if either Crest or Shelby just flatout refused to play one another? SMH.
They pass up the gift of gold and murr every year. That one home game every other year would equal the totality of remaining home games in revenue.
Get to play in front of a packed house once a year for Stuart Cramer.....all gone.
DeBoer, what exactly is in this for SP? You’re constantly trying to badger SC fans into playing SP, and it’s hard to see you doing this to benefit anyone other than the Raiders. Explain your reasoning without beating your chest, grunting, and throwing around words like “scared” as if playing the mighty Raiders is some kind of gift from God.
You may also be overselling the whole “playing in front of a packed house” argument. I’m not sure SP is drawing the crowds it did a few years ago. And as for the gate money argument, we seem to be doing just fine with the product we’re putting on the field these days. Maybe someday we’ll even sell PSLs so we can have empty plastic seating, too.
Personally, I’d like to see the game happen, but my opinion doesn’t really matter. What I find comical is the wailing and gnashing of teeth in Belmont over the whole thing. You’d think the Raiders were being deprived of attention they believe they’re entitled to.
Maybe one day SC will put SP back on the schedule. In the meantime, have we already forgotten that EG dropped you, too? With realignment potentially giving SP a more favorable conference, perhaps the Belmont faithful can eventually get back to discussing their own team and conference instead of obsessing over SC and changing the lines.
By all means keep posting on a High School Football message board about how much you don't care or think about SC.
