As long as he beats Tennessee Tech, he gets another year.
Im not sold he’s retained at 6-6. Way too much money has been invested in last two years to go 6-6. Not to mention the way he’s handled the QB room, three years three injuries and now no capable backup. Add in the defensive failures. It’s all grounds for termination. You hired him for offense and last two games your averaging 7 points a game. Mismanaging this team with a 30MM NIL is another ground for termination
And here’s something else that some of you all aren’t thinking about. Now for some reason let’s play the game and bring him back at 6-6 with staff chages. Now your have to go hire a ST, OL, TE, safteys, and I’m betting that Monty and John’s exit as well on there own. I mean that’s an entire staff save DC RB CB DL and LB. Not to mention loss of off field staff and hiring a new GM..Imagine going out and trying to hire coaches for what’s at best a one year deal (Lebbys contract runs out in 28) You may have to A over pay or B offer multiple year contracts. Now you’re looking at a larger number for buyouts at the end of 27. So, no. I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion that he’s retained at 6-6.
I haven’t even gotten to the loss of Rev, tickets sales, and the most important lack of funding for NIL if we bring him back

Cigar boys have pumped all this money in for Lebby for 2 years now. Why would they stop when we supposedly have a lot of players coming back? See that's part of the bigger problem.....cigar boys think the portal is the answer to everyone's problem, just like Lebby does. If we haven't learned our lesson after Work and James we ain't ever gonna learn it. Players grow up over the course of a year.

Of course with our strength and conditioning, nothing is certain

I’m with you 100%. But we should have never hired him, we should have fired him after year 1, we should have fired him after year 2. Im not convinced we’d do the right thing if he goes 6-6. Excuses will be made & he’ll be back. It’s the Mississippi State way.

I don’t think those cigar boys your referencing are still around. Just FYI. And for the most part the funding is in shaky ground barring 7 wins.

Hindsight is 20/20 right. I have tried to explain to you all we had very little interest in the job due to our poor NIL funding and poor roster. You’re talking about a mid level G6 roster with around 6MM in NIL. You have stoops on a plane to ATM, Sumrall not willing to budge on the zero buyout if Kentucky came open. You had several coaches say no due to NIL and roster. No, it wasn’t the best hire but now’s the time for a reset

I don't give a shlt what you call them, I'm talking about the main boosters, geez son, talk about useless quibble

We chose the wrong administration/coach to give big, and we've straight wasted money. And now they turn their back on him, after crowing about how big of a hole we were in? Just dysfunctional

You don’t think I know who you’re talking about. jHC goat. I promise you I know more of the people making decision and heavy donors than you could imagine. And some heavy hitters aren’t happy with the results. That’s all you need to know.
Man responding to you is mind numbing because your such an ignorant poster

He has to beat Vandy and TN Tech. I don't see any other wins, besides those.

That would put us at 6-6, and give him a shot at 7 wins with a bowl game. He would definitely get kept, in that situations (winning 7).

However, if he get's skull drug by OM, all bets are off. One thing you cannot do, is get killed by OM...even his supporters won't tolerate that. We've got a portion of our fanbase that would be happy with 1-11, as long as the 1 was OM.

Having said all of that, if he's kept...next year is do or die, regardless of specifics. He's got to improve.

Just on here to say that I was in the fire him boat last year.

Wanted to bring back Dan a year ago.

At this point, I don’t give a poop.

Keenum has to go before we make any substantial progress as a university.
