Games This Week:
Courtland at Culpeper - The winner is the Battlefield District Champion. While I think it could go either way, I'm thinking Courtland wins.
Spotsylvania at James Monroe - Big game looking towards the playoffs for both teams. While my heart says JM my head says Spotsy. Maybe the Maury magic will kick in.
Caroline at King George - Taking King George in this won to go above .500. KG is on track to go from no wins last year to being .500 or above and making the playoffs this year. Their new coach has got them turned around!
Eastern View at Chancellor - This was is a toss up. Will take Chancellor since they are playing at home. If Eastern View can break some big plays, Chancellor could be in trouble,

KG being playoff bound is probably the biggest turnaround in all of Virginia. They were arguably the worst team in C4 last year. Job well done by Holmes and his staff.

I agree! You can make a good case for Holmes being the Battlefield coach of the year. Another good candidate is the Culpeper coach. If Culpeper beats Courtland, he probably gets the nod. I am on the JM chain crew and was on the Culpeper sideline last Friday. I was very impressed with him: his demeanor, how he handled the game and interacted with his players. He has a good staff too.

Who all is on staff? I thought a good number of KG’s current staff came from Essex with Holmes (I could be very wrong)? Still very remarkable. KG actually paid a national site to help assist with finding assistants last year. They couldn’t find anyone, anywhere to fill their staff after Lunsford left.

KG rebounding this quick makes think as long as they have good coaching they will be a powerhouse school for years to come. They clearly have the "Johnny's and Joe's" to compete when they have some real leadership.

I think that as long as they run this offense (it definitely fits their personnel), they’ll be very competitive especially in the Battlefield. Long ways to go to match the physicality of a Varina, Dinwiddie or Petersburg but they’ll definitely have a say if they keep building. Excellent job by their staff.
