Why not?By this logic, should we look to Sullivan or Bessinger to start at QB?

I think thats where Docterman had Iowa ranked pre-season.Why not?
The Ikwa QB room is looking like the worst or 2nd worst in the B10.
The guys who ARE getting reps aren't gettin' it done, so what is there to lose? As I've said and as others have said as well, I'd turn it over to the QB of the future, Tradon Bessinger. Get him some significant game reps so he'll be game-ready for next year. Can he do worse than fumble and throw INTs and miss WIDE OPEN receivers and make the wrong reads? I don't think so. So what's the down side?Sully is in his 2nd year. I wonder how he's been looking in practice....problem is, he's likely not getting any reps....

The RBs aren't great, but everyone should know that even the greatest RBs can't get much done unless the O-line gives 'em a chance, and that ain't been happenin' much against decent competition. Combine that with Lester's mystifying play calling, including abandoning the misdirection that is a key to the Shanahan offense, and the RBs just don't have much of a chance.Iowa’s running backs don’t appear to be as good as people thought. Of course, the offensive line has played a big part in that.
But to quote Kirk....what's the upside? HahaThe guys who ARE getting reps aren't gettin' it done, so what is there to lose? Actually, I think it was Brian who said that, not that it really matters. And the upside? You go into next season with a talented QB who ALSO has significant game experience, unlike this year when you went into the season with two adequate QBs, one with two starts back at his old school, and one with no college starts. But to quote Kirk....what's the upside? Haha
playcalling dont help either with every run going straight up the middle , no trying to get to the edge or off tackle runsIowa’s running backs don’t appear to be as good as people thought. Of course, the offensive line has played a big part in that.
Wasn't that BF after people asked about why Noah Fant wasn't playing more? Or maybe I have that confused with the the infamous "he's a specialist."But to quote Kirk....what's the upside? Haha
Just speculating, but maybe he couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't have two bad outings in a row could he? I mean, that was a feisty Minny defense hungry for pig, that shined against our "offensive" struggles. Maybe go back to Heck? If we keep reaching down the depth chart, there could be a mouse trap in there.Still clinging to Heck's performance vs Washington
Yes, and now they're saying he's out for the rest of the season. May need surgery on that shoulder.....Hasn't Moulton been dealing with a shoulder issue since last year?
I don’t recall exactly, but I thought maybe it had to do with playing a back up quarterbackWasn't that BF after people asked about why Noah Fant wasn't playing more? Or maybe I have that confused with the the infamous "he's a specialist."![]()

Doesn't seem to be hurting Illinois that muchIowa is 5-2. The season is far from over.
You throw an 18 yr old, freshman qb in there against a top B1G defense and you risk a lot more than just a loss.
There’s still plenty to play for, the sky isn’t falling, and the sun came out today.
