Saw he said there will be competition between Puckett & Swann this week. WTF? You made your choice weeks ago. And it’s not like Puckett was any worse vs a very good Oklahoma defense than he was vs Alabama or LSU.

To me, Lebby does nothing until he’s absolutely forced too. I think it became obvious to him that K1 is cooked and now he has to figure something out. He probably likes Billy better personally so he forced him in there until now he is going to have to find a way to win 6 without K1 and it’s suddenly an open competition. I don’t know that’s he’s even mentioned Swanns name until yesterday.

Other examples for me would be, refusing to fire Hutzler until forced and not playing K1 much until he was forced to against Arkansas last year and he shined.

I don’t think he’s bright and I think he plays and hires favorites. Bad combination for a SEC head coach

If swan plays and is even marginally more effective than Puckett then we will all know his coaching cost us the Oklahoma game. That was a very winnable game with even average QB play.
Everybody says Swann isn't close to Puckett and they've been battling since Spring, so time to show your hand and say screw you fans wanting Swann, to which the fans say you completely 17d your HC career by not signing a legitimate QB. And we can throw in OL & DL & any form of a pass rusher & even punter.

I really am concerned that he is related to Moorhead. Hard headed and hard headed!
I said yesterday that there are some eerily similar personality traits shared by those two

There is no chance on god’s green earth that Lebby genuinely believes that Puckett gives us a viable chance to win SEC games, but now that all of the finger pointing and second guessing is hitting him, he has absolutely dug his heels in, and it’s just ridiculous.

If Puckett doesn’t start next week, I’ll have to believe that it is only because Lebby’s hand was forced. We are witnessing the beginning of the end of his coaching tenure here

Either that or he thinks/knows he’s got a much longer leash than we the fans think he does.

To me, it says he's not satisfied, and plans to do any and everything he can, under the circumstances.

No. This is way more fun.

Very few of us were excited about the hire. I don’t remember anyone claiming we had the second coming of spurrier or saban

especially when he made his DC hire

but I really, really wanted to be wrong
There were some who implied, in the national media as well as on here, perfect fit blah blah blah...

Yeah, there are always a few of those. But the overall pulse of state fandom in general was “meh”
I felt it was different but agree to disagree. He's not the answer we need to move on I think that's the fans general feeling.

I don’t need Saban or Spurrier (FL) level of winning. I’d me more than happy with Mullen (MSU) level of success. By far the best HC we’ve had in a LONG time. Sucks that Tupelo didn’t have a Target back in 2016**

I want to win. Do you?
If you really really wanted to win. Then you would start donating to 1878. But you won’t. You would rather come on here and try to take a victory lap…over us losing …let that sink in. I say it all the time. Either get off your a$$ and be part of the solution and stop part of the problem

I dont think Lebby has many options. Billy has been here 2 years playing scout team QB and Swann has only had since last spring. Maybe Billy knows the offense better than Swann. None of us know what the truth is. One thing for sure is Lebby THINKS he is putting the best guy he has out there. I feel like he probly knows better than any of us. The issue is that aint good enough. My biggest issue is I think they handled the turf toe or whatever it was horribly bad. But that ship has sailed.

There’s really no good answer here that makes Lebby look good. Either he’s playing the wrong backup qb or he spectacularly failed in recruiting a backup qb.

Not paying for journeymen in college sports is actually a pretty solid financial idea. Belittling people who don’t make bad financial decisions is not a winning strategy. If you are so passionate about college football that it makes sense to you to give your money to the cause that’s your choice but doing so certainly is not what most will choose to do.
