I thought Tarboro's non conference opponents were world beaters. Surely they wont all lose will they? Lmao
Haha, man, come on. You brought up Simmons Ratings the other day, so let’s take a closer look at what his numbers actually show.
The highest-rated team Warren County has played is South Granville at 100.9. Tarboro has played five teams rated higher than that.
Warren County’s average opponent rating on Simmons is 71.74, while Tarboro’s is 98.39. That means, on average, Tarboro’s opponents are rated nearly 27 points higher than Warren County’s.
Simmons currently has Warren County rated at 123.1. Tarboro has already played three teams rated higher than that: Rocky Mount, Hunt, and Havelock. So your comment the other day about Warren County going undefeated against Tarboro’s schedule is really just a personal opinion, and the numbers don’t necessarily support it.
At the end of the day, none of these ratings or comparisons will decide who’s the better team. That’ll be settled on the field.
But if we’re going to talk about strength of schedule, let’s at least be consistent. You can’t make jokes about Tarboro playing a weak schedule while ignoring the level of competition Warren County has faced.
