These are the ranks for total defense nationally for a program that is led by a defensive coach who talks about “toughness” and “violence”. There really is no excuse for the drop off during the last 3 years. It’s not NIL, it’s about lack of development, poor player evaluation, poor coaching:

2020: 82
2021: 52
2022: 45
2023: 34
2024: 72
2025: 114
2026: 126

Greg Sinusoidal? As a function of time, we could be back in the 80s by 2032 or 2033.

2022 and 2023 was all Harasymiak and Hetherman. Schiano was pretending to do everyone else's job except Coaching. Now that he's back to Coaching, it's an utter and complete shitshow. For the love of Rutgers, please send Schiano and his ridiculously bloated staff of coaches and family members packing.

not a single high school recruit has panned out in years on the defensive side of the ball. Schiano has been terrible identifying talent.
He’s followed that up taking an eternity to find a defensive coordinator and consequently completely failing in the transfer portal despite more resources this year.

He’s absolutely stealing money
