Aggies are like the Longhorns....Coach makes double what Stein makes and their football NIL budget is more than UKs football and basketball budget combined. That said, Steins 3 years at Texas makes them a bigger threat

Ky needs to pay Stein NOW.
Jobs that could be open soon :
Texas
Texas A&M
Penn State
Dallas Cowboys
Oregon
Florida State
Colorado

ALL pay $5 to $8 million more than Kentucky..

No coach is leaving the SEC to go to freaking Colorado.

Cowboys would be a problem if Stein wants to go pro. Wouldn't be much we could do about that.

A&M and Texas would be harder jobs in the fact TITLES are EXPECTED there. Not just good seasons.

Oregon could come calling. But again same issue; titles are expected there.

Florida State is the job if you really want to be the guy. But it's a true rebuild.

FSU and Cowboys would be the only ones I could see him even interested in.

Stein isn’t going anywhere so chill. They need to pay him but not get into an annual pissing contest by using Texas or similar every year going after him. I’m all for a 7-10 year deal full of incentives that eventually make him top 3-5 paid coach
Agreed, raise him and assistants base salary to top 20 in the nation and extend him another 3-4 years. Promise a set amount of NIL per year that competes with the top 8 teams average in the SEC, and incentives that make him a top 10 coach if met.

Texas wouldn't be a harder job for Stein. If we had Texas talent, Stein would have us ranked #1 right now

Jerry Jones wouldn't give control to Stein. It's why the Cowboys haven't had a non-boot licker coach in a couple decades

Agree with everything except FSU. That university is in serious financial distress and they are stuck in the ACC. The shine on that program is all but gone.

My inclusion of Colorado was just a dig at the KRAZZEE state of NCAA Sports financials right now.
That said who would have thought that Indiana & UCLA Plus KY would be at the top of their leagues.
my point - PAY STEIN NOW.

Colorado just isn't a draw program though. And especially if you're already established in the P4/P5. It's a downward move. Now for a coach like say New Mexico's Eck? That would be a good step up for him.

We were $40M combined Basketball and Football. LSU, Texas and A&M all are $50M+. We need to raise him to $10M salary, but its gonna be hard to get tge football budget anywhere near those schools

We probably won’t be able to get to #1, but we can get an average budget that allows us to compete at the top of the league. We should invest at least 30M in football alone a year. Maybe even 35. You get a NC contender year in and out the patch deals of 18M a year help pay for that stuff alone.

I do not believe that Texas would consider Stein at this point in his career. He’s given us a tremendous ride so far this season, but he has only 8 games head coaching experience.
In 2-3 seasons, it may be very hard to keep our coach from the blue blood programs, but I don’t see it this early.

So $35M to football and $5M to basketball? The folks paying the NIL money fight say F that lol

I may be in the minority but, I think CWS will be here for a long time.

Where would he want to go? His father's roots are here, he is from the state, he played in the state, his mother runs a successful business in state - it just seems like the most perfect fit for him.

Now, the present...I never thought he'd get our program to the level it is now this fast - I am sure he did but I'd guess 99% of us here did not.

How about this thought - instead of CWS moving to another "blueblood" or "historical" program, how about he makes UK those types of programs?

Now that whoever is in charge at UK sees what winning $EC football looks like, the NIL $$$ should be never ending.

Let's build the first $EC football program to play football into the championship team most of us here want.

No I say pay basketball as well. We may not get 50m alone for football but we should be around the top in basketball and competitive in football like every SEC should. I am in no way saying cut basketball to 5M dollars that would be stupid. We may not have 75M to spend between both, but I bet we could get a 50M budget total.

Our NIL budget for both sports combined. Even if we found another $10M for the combined total, we would have to give every penny of both to get to the top schools in the SECs level.
If it is possible for us to find another $10M NIL, basketball still has to take $15-20M of it. That would leave us with $30-35M for football. Thats not the top but enough to compete IMO. Then pony up another $5M per for his salary.
But make no mistake, we will not cut the basketball NIL budget. All the folks screaming for Pope to get canned, we have been getting rejected by our top basketball coaching targets for a while, it won't get easier if we slash the budget for football

Despite Indiana winning a title last season, their estimated NIL budget this year is in the lower $30 millions while Kentucky is in the lower $20 millions. You don’t necessarily need a $50+ million budget to compete in football.

Exactly 30-35m for football is where we should be around 20 for basketball.

No, but you need at least $30-35M to consistently compete at the highest levels. Stein is coaching his *** off but that only goes so far

Good/great coaches will find a way to work with their budget. Obviously you don’t want to be far behind everyone else, but Stein at the very least has proven he can compete with the big boys with a smaller budget.

Basketball is a bit more questionable, but there’s always going to be basketball-only boosters so it should probably be able to stay in the top 10. Coaching will also obviously determine how well we do in that sport.

The man Texas A&M wants and needs is already in-state. In fact, he's behind enemy lines and has previous head coaching experience.

Tanned. Rested. Ready. (Do gingers really tan? I dunno, just go with it).

What I know is this, although aTm spurned him once, Stoops took no umbrage. Time to right the wrong, Aggies!

Well, they’re idiots if they see the two products and still are saying F that.
No, they aren't shortsighted. Once you fire Pope, who do you think is coming here for a reduced NIL budget? Hurley? LMFAO

Also...if you fire Pope, then why are you cutting it in the first place? Think before you post

He’s the man for the job. Have you seen how Texas tries to lose games every week? That’s a Mark Stoops stamp on a team if I have ever seen one.
