It can still be playoff worthy. We need Wisconsin to win tonight, and we need to beat NW. Then we'll be back in the mix.
No, we won't. 2 losses likely finishes a team from CFP conversations. Not to mention that if the selection committee looks at the fact that Minnesota was missing 4 offensive lineman from this game and Iowa was mostly healthy coming in, we are not going anywhere

I dont think so. 2+ losses with wins over who, exactly? The Michigan win isn't what it normally would be. Iowa had 2 losses a few years ago with Deacon Hill and was nowhere near the playoff picture going into that conference title game.

Iowa needed to beat Ohio State or run the table the rest of the way to have a shot.

What could be ranked Wisconsin, what will be ranked NW, what could be ranked Nebraska. Ferentz swan song.

Problem is , I’m not sure this team that didn’t show up today has what it takes to win out. NU Wisconsin, Nebraska….illinois even

I have no doubt we will have some close calls, but a "seasoned" fan should know that this team historically improves as the season goes on, especially on offense. Michigan may implode, but I doubt it. You are drastically underestimating how good their defense is. From someone who actually watches the games, you can see that they will likely have the best Dline Iowa plays this year, adding to a great to elite secondary. Then you look at their offesne, some of those throws that Underwood made were NFL ready, that is god given talent. If he had it between the ears, he would be unbeatable with the combination of scramble and arm talent. I don't doubt that this weekend gets ugly, but the rest of the schedule being a pipe dream isn't disingenuous, it's laughable.

Is it still laughable?

Pipe dream? Washington is only tough due to the travel, they have no run game. Their defense is pretty mid in both pass and rush defense. Minnesota was absolutely cooked by Mississippi State a decent team with an elite QB. I will give Wisky props, Joseph can run the ball solidly, but he has an absolute noodle arm. Nebraska, well who the hell knows, they haven't played anyone, and that score against MSU should have been much closer. Debby does have what appears to be a solid. We will have a better idea when they matchup against Indiana.

You gave me hell for a couple weeks. Now it's my turn.

they gotta pull their heads out of their arses
The hawks had almost a season full of stupid mistakes, penalties, and turnovers yesterday. I dont think we see that again this year in any one game but still need to find yards on first down, yards running the ball. DTackles and up the middle was noted as Minny's defensive weakness but they put a lot of extra players there and we did not adjust with wide throws behind the LOS and wide running plays to find a crease and go. I dont care if our two fastest running backs are in there but sweep them wide and look for a crease and go.

Doesn't really matter in this day and age. With the number of teams being admitted to the playoffs and OSU, Oregon and the normal power teams struggling, Iowa pisses a golden opportunity down their collective legs again. It is a Hawkeye tradition.........
As soon as our stock goes up we always **** the bed. 💯

Do any MAC teams spend $20.5 million on athletic salaries?
No, they don't.
We are ahead of only Purdue in spending on football in the BIG.
We hammered the MAC team we played.
We lost to 2 teams that have higher payrolls.
We do play Purdue so we have a shot vs boilers

I know you excited with this new era where college sports mimics the pros and Iowa is sliding to their proper place as a small low population state team....irrelevance due to smaller payroll.

Even MLB is trying to rein in payrolls with a cap
...but like in college sports all the power is held by the players so a walkout is looming next spring.
This is just great!
